Have YOU submitted the goatse suspension story to slashdot TODAY?!!!
(Here's a conspiracy theory for ya... Somebody made the comment that nic.cx has been deleting the posts from their comment messageboard on this matter. I can't verify the claim. But apparently that sort of doublethink from a domain registrar isn't newsworthy.)
"Complaint to nic.cx results in goatse.cx being suspended. Obligatory online petition is started. Screams and sobbing are heard on a regular basis on Slashdot. Links are SFW, but any investigation further may not be. This is truly a dark time for the internet. "
This deserves it's own story under YRO. Whether the slashdot editurs like it or not, goatse.cx is (was?) a high-profile website on many online forums. The fact that they ran afoul of their TOS, and whether those TOS were changed specifically to shutdown goatse.cx should be of interest to many in the slashdot community.
Every /. story like this has to have a post like

"A terabyte disk array? Who would ever need anything like that?!!!"
Obviously since I can't see a need for such massive amounts of storage, there's no reason anybody should waste their time making this. They should build stuff that solves my problems.
Come on people, form an orderly line! There's enough for everybody to have one! Get your own mark of the beast right here!
You idiot geeks and your gadget fetish. You'd scream bloody murder if GW Bush forced you to wear one of these. But since it's a neat gadget and a convienence, you'll don your shackles eagerly. ex - see CELL PHONES
"if they had allowed licensing of their products in the 1980s like IBM did,"
IBM didn't allow anything.
They legally couldn't stop the flood of clones from the market. They then tried closing the barn after the horse was out with MicroChannel, but couldn't come up with a compelling reason for people to pay extra for vendor lock-in.
And now you have companies like Phoenix pushing DRM in the BIOS. Oh, the irony!
"Especially when shareholders realize that the long-term costs in quality, logistics, and security that working across the globe like this raises far outweigh any short-term benefits."
Yeah, like when the average wage across their society gets to the point where people aren't pissed off enough to blow themselves up to kill Americans.
That's the way to "think different"!
(And I'm not just yankin' your chain!)
Just as long as it doesn't stop me for making copies of these!

I say the producers of "Gigli" should get the chair!
Could this be the DOD's "justification" for research into Stimulated Gamma Decay Weapons?
Xemu heard that, ratbrain!
The "country" of "England" is absurdist humor.
First I read that as "peeing" and thought that knowing NASA, they wouldn't be able to tell if a Martian frat boy was peeing on their 80bn $ rover.
Too many picayune laws and selective enforcement are signs of a bueracratic and corrupt system.

But for some reason, people still have them. Even in the hyper-"capitalist" West.
