Guess that's why only Win 98SE is supported. From the page:

This sounds like a pretty good idea to backup my webserver's files on, along with some other code of mine that I really don't want to lose and don't trust on a floppy anymore. Too bad it's a lil on the expensive side for my cheapass.
Woo! That did the trick perfectly. Even after tapping it a little, it doesn't reset anymore (well hitting it by the USB connection does, but that was in one specific spot, and it probly shouldn't be hit there anyways:P ). Thanks alot A.C.!
-it may be just my player, but it's not very shock resistant. i use it at the gym, and if it gets tapped with even more than a slight touch it jumps songs and stops playing (even when locked). Maybe a lose wire somewhere, but it's always done it.
Yep, mine too. I love the damn thing, but I dropped it a couple of times, and since then the slightest taps cause it to shut off and reset itself - really sucks when you're driving with it. I don't know if it should be opened though - maybe some padding in there is moved, but I don't really wanna mess with it, just in case. Any ideas anyone?
I've read that the last Dreamcast that's manufactured is gonna have something *really cool* inside the box. Anyone hear what it could possibly be yet? My stab at it is that it's some kinda coupon for every Dreamcast game made - they're not gonna be doing too much with all those games right?
I had a server running RedHat 6.2 with a standard server setup (partitions:/,/boot,/usr,/var,/home, and swap). Well, long story short, my HDD fscked up and crashed. I could still somewhat get into it, by throwing it on my workstation, but the/usr partition was the one that had all the problems, and that's where my webpages were (/usr/local/apache/).
So, since then, I've created a/www partition just in case of emergency. I've set mine at 50 MB, and even that seems way too big for what I'm doing (barely anyone goes to the site, but it's all for fun), but it's all precautionary - if other partitions die on me, I could (hopefully) get into the system as single user, and save my pages instead of having to redo all of them.
Geez..just when I was getting sick and tired of posers in the punk / emo / indie music scenes, I have yet ANOTHER place where posers can come to get on my nerves.
If you're gonna use Linux to *impress* your friends, don't even bother. Just go out and buy Windows XP (preferably the full edition, to show off how l33t you are with a credit card) - you'll be the talk of all your friends.
Just curious..what kind of video card are you using, and does it work alright with the TV? I'm set to build a multimedia box, and even have a frontend started, but since there's not much TV-out support for Linux, I've been pretty disappointed lately.
Hey all. While I do plan to grab my ISO when I get home from work and give it a shot on my workstation, I was wondering if anyone had tried out 7.2 on their server.
I'm currently running 6.2 (with all kinds of issues since I re-installed after my hard drive crapped out on me) for a box with masquerading for my internal network, basic firewall, web server, future mail server when I get the chance to set it up, and internal Samba server. Since I'm currently trying to re-install that (damn Signal 11 errors are stopping me though, and I'm getting annoyed:/ ), I was wondering if anyone's tried 7.2 on their server and had any positive or negative experiences.
I know lots of the GUI packages have been talked about here (being the bigger aspect of the RedHat distro), but what about the server environment? I'm still lost as to whether or not GRUB is graphical, and since my server is strictly CLI, I don't know if I'd be able to use it.
I know the newest version of Apache is a strong point, but I'd already planned to download that and compile / configure it myself, being that I like to add in some PHP and everything.
ext3 also sounds like it'd be a good thing for my server too, even with the mixed approval and disapproval from everyone here, and already looks like a strong reason to upgrade.
I've also been meaning to go to a 2.4.x kernel to start messing with and learning about iptables.
And is the server install still nice and clean without any extra, un-needed RPMs? (well, not that many un-needed RPMs, and not like it's a big deal cuz I can always remove what I don't need..but 6.2 gave me a decent install with not too much extra to remove.)
If anyone could give me their opinions about all of this (and anything else they'd like to throw in), it would be much appreciated.
Actually, this really does look like an awesome idea to me, and it looks like it wouldn't be too hard to hold, again, as long as it's not that heavy.
And it should be fine as long as you're not like the way my lil cousin used to be, where she'd hit the jump button on the controller, and then proceed to pull it up in the air and follow it along with Mario to help him get over that pit (which for some reason never did work..). You'd pull your freakin arm out with this controller, if not take someone's head off:P
Just watching that go by every minute, and seeing the events go on is just disgusting..I've been nauseous all morning just seeing everything happen little by little..yuck.
So all they really have to do is talk to your average AOL-er to get the equivalent of this AI right?;D
But seriously, was I the only one who got a quick, lil chill while reading this? Especially with the thought of this Dunietz guy laughing manically in his room with hundreds of computers in it?
Oooh boy..is this gonna be anything like when MIR was brought down? Why doesn't/. hold a contest.."give us your guess on the exact date AND TIME that Linux was created and you'll get a free t-shirt!":P
I think gnapster is pretty much the equivalent of WinMX, though it only connects to one OpenNap server at a time (dunno if it's really p2p or not though, and I can't totally remember since I'm not at home where I can use it). I still think WinMX is easier to use, and for some reason I've gotten more with that than gnapster (though dammit, I'd like to be in Linux more than Windows:/ ). Hey maybe WinMX will run in Wine..hmm..
That's kinda rough for me actually. It's all good in theory, but with the music I listen to (semi-underground emo / punk / indie / etc.), people on Napster rarely had it anyways, and even now the people on OpenNap servers and IRC don't even have it. Plus, I usually buy my CDs at shows anyways, where the band only charges $10 for it, and they get that money.
The original BOFH, back yet again to make people's lives miserable! Er..wait..I mean good..er..no I mean bad..er..I dunno whether this is good or bad! I guess good as long as the robot doesn't freak and kill people. But Marvin's a cool name..
And with the Gameboy Advance out (well soon for us U.S. people), I think Nintendo will do even better. It looks like the best damn handheld system I've ever seen.

I think this was posted in the last story, but I've found it to be an OK up-to-the-minute source..
