I am an ATT Wireless subscriber and they contacted me about my free upgrade to the Sony Ericsson T226 from my beloved T68i. I had already heard about the upgrade and checked out the feature set and told the ATT Representative that I was not interested. She said that was fine.
So let me repeat, because I have not seen this mentioned anywhere else, but I was told by an ATT Rep that there would be no consequence to keeping my old phone.
Just wanted to say that the iPod Mini's hard drive is the same compact flash situation as Creative's MuVo2.
As was documented by Christopher Breen of Macworld, the iPod Mini's hard drive is "encased in compact flash form". Some cameras support using this 4GB compact flash card, but not Mr. Breen's. He does note that it works in his USB Media Reader attached to a PowerBook G4, shows up on the desktop as a 3.6GB volume.
For the iPod to support the WMA format in any form, would require Apple to license Windows Media from Microsoft, there-by cutting in Microsoft on Apple's whole gig. Basically knocking on Microsoft's door and saying
'hey, we've been making so much money on the iPod, we'd like to cut you in on the deal'
Fuck any of you who think Apple needs to cut Microsoft in on the iPod cash-cow. Microsoft doesn't deserve the money, the marketshare, and the propreitary Windows Media format is certainly not special enough to mandate being included on the iPod.
". ..You might make a case that the iPod could support unprotected WMA files, but this follow-up column from Thurrott shows that he's clearly talking about WMA files protected with Microsoft's proprietary DRM. How could it possibly benefit either HP or Apple to cut Microsoft in on this? They might as well pull down their pants and get out the Vaseline while they're at it."
Sorry to burst your bubble but this is most certainly not the default setting. The default setting is to hold down the Menu button for 2 seconds if you would like the backlight on. You can change the backlight settings if you want, which you obviously did to make it come on after any activity at all.
May we all live happily with our iPods, and may the Rio users never understand it.
I'm not trying to troll, really I'm not. But I have many home user clients, and can attest that most of them really have no desire/ability to change any default sayings unless I walk them through it.
But not allowing them to have control over their own computers and relying on someone else to install applications, rather than at their own convenience. I just don't think its right. The better method is to educate your users, I'm not expecting them to become geeks, or really care about it. But educating them on why not to install software like that, and reccomend software that you can trust.
While I do have home users of both Macs and Windows, I will say that this is far easier with the Mac users, because there really isnt much in the way of spyware, and malware that will do something harmful to the system.
Having Microsoft finally add this into their own web browser is a wonderful thing. It is long overdue, and I've had to answer the question "why doesnt internet explorer have pop-up blocking" and not have an answer, way too many times. I hope their is an announcement for a junk mail filter in their e-mail clients as well.
When was it that you applied last? I'm guessing you were under 21? Perhaps you should try again now that you are on your own. . . you are on your own, right?
My point is, i see no reason why your parents income should even be considered. Sign those loans, get your degree, get the hell out of Oregon (or sell services to companies in other parts of the country), and make that money.
Oh, and one more thing, sell yourself and do it well, because if you don't, someone else will do it for you, and you'll make less because of it.
Slashdot has a user base large enough to ACCIDENTLY crash most webservers. Accidently because we are not purposely being malicious, but it just so happens that there are enough people reading/., and clicking through to the article, that it can overload most servers not prepared for such traffic.
No,/. is not "one of the largest", in a top 10 sense, but it's deffinitely in the top 1000, and on a network of millions of websites, i'd say that's a pretty big deal.
Just because your grandma and grandpa dont know about it, doesnt mean its not mainstream.
I love the idea of having 802.11b (g would be even better) in a proffesional level Digital SLR. The examples cited here for photographers to automatically send their shots to clients, to their own computers for instant editing, are great.
But I would like to see a consumer digital camera with Bluetooth, not for file transfers though. It would be nice if it had that ability, but the practical applications that i'm thinking of is controling the digital camera with my computer and/or bluetooth capable cell phone. I'd want to be able to tell it to take a picture, zoom in, and generally control the comera's complete operating system via bluetooth.
Sony will probably do it first, because they seem to like bluetooth the most out of the various camera companies.

If you don't feel like digging through their website, just give them a call on the phone, their sales people know the products very well and can reccomend something for you and your car.

As The Apple Turns makes sure to never take itself quite too seriously, i think that's what makes it best of all.
And at leas they admit it when they are reporting information from another rumor site. MacOSRumors and AppleInsider dont even give you that respect.
Strike that. Reverse it. Motorola calls it Altivec, and Apple calls it Velocity Engine.
