At least you don't live in Mexico. The only telephone company here sucks, the service sucks, the prices sucks. Examples (prices converted to us dlls): You can make up to 100 LOCAL calls for about 19 dlls (month), extra calls 18 cents each, long distance about 50 cents by minute, call to any "local" cell phone 29 cents. . . ahhhhh, their internet services: 256k ADSL 60dlls month with 3 year contract; special fees for decline contract.
Apple has better access to the underlying operating system??? . . . then mozilla and whatever browser must be imaginary sinse nobody had access to "underlying" windows.
i'm a linux user since 96 and freebsd since 97. my first version of freebsd was 2.2.2, stable ok, fast ok, but not for a desktop. today a freebsd system is perfec for a common desktop tasks and remains fast and stable. why all te "non-microsoft" initiatives are focused on linux?

I was send a comentary about one week ago about eMexico, the proposal from Miguel de Icaza (ximian) to Mexico's president Vicente Fox and Microsoft. I dont know WHY my comentary was not posted. . . Whatever.
I'm a 25 year old mexican, i have started with computers 13 years ago and droped the school 4 years ago.
The problem in Mexico isn't to use or not to use open-source software, the problem on Mexico isn't Microsoft, the really big problem in Mexico is the incompetence of the educational stuff; from the department of education to teachers; to elemental education to highschool, even universities.
For our disgrace (remember? i'm mexican) the president and their people only wants popularity and problems like misery of 50% (or more) of the population are irrelevant.
you got this link in a IRC channel. . . right?
i'm using the "latest milestone of Firebird" and my queries are running faster than ever.
microsoft photo editor has stopped photoshop?
could be useful with a happy hacking keyboard. . . :)

what do you want??? ie replacement? photoshop wannabe?. . . too "migrarion friendly".
the dvd version will come with a deleted scene where trinity FIRST hacks a public IP; later (one on the intranet) she hack into the 10.2.2.2 :)
an access "developer" talking about stupidity.
that's irony.
why the people use visual basic.
if linux is the mos popular OS. . . what's windows???
i'm (like several slashdoters) tired of .net vs java benchmarks. . . is out there a .net vs perl vs php vs java benchmark?
talking about BSD. . .
of course Linux's TCP stack is better than most propietary implementations. . . it's robed from BSD.
is out there one or two developers?
dont forget:
java development kit
netbeans ide (maybe forte CE)
borland c++ free compiler
jedit!
