    People like shiny things. That's why DVDs and CDs took off, while MDs have struggled and tapes (both VHS and audio) have all but disappeared for mainstream consumer use. Unless your media is shiny, don't expect it to succeed.

    There was a story about somebody that did this. He wasn't actually doing the collect-the-check part, but he needed a place to do some work, so he invited himself into an office. He picked out a desk, and they eventually provided him with a computer from which he went about his way, doing his work with his free office space.

    Should we cry? Seriously ... nobody's forcing you or anyone else to upgrade. If you don't want to deal with this ... don't install Whistler. It seems way too often people install the newest greatest thing because they think they need it but then complain about the rules of the new product that are imposed on them. It's OPTIONAL. Don't like it? Don't install it!

    Does anybody else have a problem with the fact that the same people that can't figure out the ballots are the ones that are working to try to figure out what the numbers are now? Every picture I see is of a bunch of confused people staring over their bifocals trying to figure out the difference between their ass and their elbow.

    Game replay data isn't usually stored as an AVI ... it's possitional information, so you can replay it at any speed you want, regardless of how many frames are displayed at runtime.

    I think my favorite quote from the response was:

    "I happen to know that there are very limited numbers of people who have the complete data, and none of those people with complete data have talked to you."

    This can only be true if he's the only one with the complete data. If it's somebody else, they're not going to broadcast the fact that they were a source. These people live in a different world than the rest of us. It's comical.
