  2. facebook has become a necessary evil for many, heck even /. has a facebook section. I have an account to maintain contact with the family, I touch once a week or so.

    facebook doesn't delete accounts, didn't, doesn't matter; once bitten. Figuring I had more control with an active account I deleted 2 years worth of history.

    Now I get two pages of ads then met with a to continue further you need to make more friends, two pages is fine with me. I'll not be forced to "find friends".

    Ubuntu Touch/Mobile failed, Microsoft is closing shop on Windows 10 Mobile.

    Honestly your best bet would be a phone that you can root, and put a stripped-down custom Android ROM on it. You don't need to connect to any Google Play services to get all the basics. At least that way you get to pick your configuration and keep it minimal.

    Windows 10 hides directories, and maintains permissions on files. It keeps me from deleting many temp directories an example, temp files in the directory Windows/WinSxS

    Flying nuclear reactors are never a clever idea.

    Hanford nuclear reservation (USA) tried an Atomic Airplane. The problem they couldn't avoid is the sheilding required made it too heavy to fly. Guess drones don't require any, just distance.

    Interesting all the comments regarding malware being distributed by Excel. Doing a quick search, the amount of malware distributed by Excel is on the rise.

    Could anybody comment on why this is such a big issue?

    It's really anything Microsoft as it's so distributed, more bang for your buck.

    Microsoft just doesn't get it, Word default "was" macros allowed, and the list extensive in this respect.

    It doesn't matter NN rules or not, if you are a small business you can only afford so much bandwidth to provide content to people. Were you seriously thinking NN rules meant that any business could use any amount of bandwidth for free? Come on!!

    I can't find anything definite about future cell phones being sold unlocked, but that ability was allowed through the Net neutrality law.

    Might purchase one while available.

    UltraEdit (Text editor) will show all text in a file, one can fairly call a files function with just that.

    Long ago there was a program called "Peek" that showed all text in a file none of the hex/high Ascii that UltraEdit also shows; W2K broke it and I've missed it every since.

    I'll be giving this program a try.

    Deceptively cheap at $200 then one must purchase 15 PCIe 1 adapters for the 15 GPU cards your going to need.
    The bundle includes a Celeron Desktop Processor which isn't up to the task. At best entry level for the likes of a facebook user.

    July 2009: Google updated the base aerial photography for this area and the “flying car” is no longer there. This rules out some of the theories in the comments that it was a permanent structure.

    You already installed win10, which comes with built in microsoft keylogger, among other monitoring implements that call home. Your worry is like worrying about getting wet from crying after your ship sank and you're floating in the ocean.

    As far as I can tell if one disables Windows Cortana (Autoruns) updates are stopped and problem solved. It could be something else involved but Process Explorer seems to agree.

    Just like the things we saw with the networking folks, another vendor says oops look at this surveillance tool we just happened to have left in our production stack we've been putting on all our machines for years. Time for someone to look at Dell and see if they've made the same "mistake".

    NSA to HP: That backdoor has been compromised we need another or you know what will happen, no more government contracts.

    HP to rest: Oh look what was found, well it's easy to explain; nothing to see here.

  21. What is really of note is the alleged compatibility. I never seen anything compatible with all windows versions. ANYTHING.. In fact, I doubt anyone really checked it because I'm pretty sure it will hang or crash on some versions.

    One right off hand. Forte Agent 1.92, just move a short-cut to the newest install and have an E-mailer/Newsreader all set-up and ready to go.

    Older versions work as well, but needed yEnc the newer 1.92 offered. Used this version from W2K/Win98 to Win10 and in between.

    It's well-known that Firefox 57 unnecessarily, but intentionally, broke most extensions for most users.

    Have you tried to access cloudflare.solutions? I have and can't. Google shows this a problem since 2011, I got nothing.
