It's fairly easy to tell the difference between a signature that was printed with an inkjet and an actual pen being held by a human (forget using a laser, that's even more obvious).
At this point, the signature on paper is just symbolic.
On May 27, 2011, U.S. President Barack Obama became the first president to use an autopen to sign a bill into law.[4] While visiting France, he authorized the use of an autopen to create his signature which signed into law an extension of three key provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act
You mean like NDAA which was quietly signed into law (and officially removes YOUR right to any kind of trial, or even citizenship if the powers that be wish it so) on 1/1/2012? Welcome to the police state of america.
when was the last time the whitehouse "respond[ed] to [a petition] in an official capacity"? As I recall the only response to any petition was a giant "fuck you" over marijuana, thus ruining the credibility of this entire online petition system.
the packet sniffer feature makes a pcap file. wiresharek happily reads said pcap file. What does it give you that wireshark doesn't already? It's preinstalled on every mac running lion.
It's probably more fair to say, "They were given the choice to provided the technology for a government to snoop on their citizens communications, or suspend business in that governments jurisdiction." Sounds like chasing the dollar at the expense of their core competency to me.
My iPhone (usually) snoozes when I hit the power button on the top. This morning it didn't shut up. So I unlocked it. The alarm kept going!~ I powered it off (not sleep), and the alarm finally turned off.
This is actually in my google voice voicemail list:

The US Congress is so adept at nudging us into the desired behavior with taxes and mandates, that they forgot that it's perfectly constitutional for them to decide what will be legal tender currency, as long as it is gold and silver.
The difference is that you don't have to drive.* You need auto insurance if you are going to drive. Whereas now you need health insurance if you are going to exist.
*Some would argue that the definition of driving involves commercial purposes, and if you as a sovereign individual are transporting yourself and your private property in your privately owned vehicle (never been registered with the state, and you have the original manufacturer title) that you are traveling and thus do not need a license or insurance. IANAL, I just read this somewhere...:P
it would be the same as netflix if netflix charged you on a per-movie basis in addition to the monthly fee. this alone will make onlive fail. I have lost *ALL* interest in onlive do to the pricing model, especially now that steam is heading for the mac.
Actually, this one doesn't. Of course they require a phone line and cost more ontop of that. Let's just say that while you pay more for the same product as AT&T, you get some fantastic customer service. My only association with sonic.net is that I used to be a subscriber. I switched to [del]Comcast[/del] Xfinity because they're faster, but i miss the customer service.:(
Based on the video id, the actual file location of the video itself can be found. My ipod will play the videos in its hardware decoder, since it doesn't have flash installed. It just connects directly to an mp4 video file. No reason that a browser script couldn't do the same thing.
I believe the ClickToFlash plugin for Safari does exactly that (or, more exactly, provides a user-selectable option to do exactly that).
but only on youtube, all other video sites still use flash and only flash for video playback...

If cabletown was a thinking long term, they wouldn't have bought that buggy whip manufacturer that calls itself NBC.

I think you're forgetting about the Star Wars Holiday Special, Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor.
They're out there.
here is a tool that lets you figure out which are the best DNS servers to use for your internet connection.

Quick! Someone tell Steve Gibson!
Or are you talking about SSDs? SSDs don't work that way, but hard drives sure do!
yes, but tenfinity and 10finity just look stupid
I think they used to call PDFs 'books'

From my Google Voice transcription:
lol what?
So apple reached into your wallet and took out $800 and dropped an iPad in your lap too? i think you have apple confused with the government!
That doesn't matter - mplayer and just about everything else can play .flv
how do you get mplayer to run in safari instead of flash?
