In order to do that with a Sun E10K, they would probably have to use the Craftsman Ultra Professional series tool box, that is 6ft. tall, 4 feet deep (probably on 10 wheels). You know one of those one the uber-mechanics use....:-)
I own a gun, and I have never killed anything with it. I like to go to the range and squeeze off a couple of rounds, especially after a long hard week of work.
I wrote an entire term paper at home on SO 6.0beta, and then brought it to school and opened it with MS Office and printed it. The.doc file worked perfect, so I have absolutely no complaints on SO 6.0beta.
When SO 6.0 comes out in retail stores, I will purchase it.
I have used PCs since the 8088, and until recently never considered a Mac. Now that OSX came out, and the G4 processor came out I am seriously considering replacing my beige box of conformity (WinTel) for a Power Mac G4. It may only take one or two more things for me to actually make the purchase.
About switching CPUs, I guess Sun Microsystems should switch CPUs, because their installed base isn't nearly as large as Intel's. I despise intel's processors, because they listen to their marketing department which says more Mhz (Ghz) the better, because computer geeks who know that ( Higher freqency != better processor ).
Why did the judge order him to stay away from cell phones, and fax machines? How is someone going to hack with a cell phone or fax?
"Welcome to Microsoft corporation press 1 for english" (do a touch tone buffer overrun exploit for their phone system) "Welcome root@microsoft.phone.system where would you like to go today?"
I am fighting a traffic ticket in April. Hmmm, I wonder what would happen if I tried this type of stuff in court. "You're honor, I would like the entire State of Florida to appear in court", and I believe they spelled my name in all caps when I asked for a court date.
Did you see that now they have warnings on before the first hole? The warning says do not hit the track ball too hard, or you might suffer hand or wrist injury (or something to that effect). I guess a trackball isn't very ergonomic.
It really pisses me off how the RIAA gets off saying that the only market for CD-R's is to pirate music. I personally use them to back up my HD, burn new Linux ISO images, etc. I have 5 or 6 CD's that I burned from GNUtella'ed mp3's, and these are all from CD's (that got damaged), or tapes that I actually went to a record store and purchased. I have burned roughly 200 CD's, and none of them came from "pirated" (Fair Use) music. Therefore I don't owe the RIAA $.01.
How long has it been since they purchased Netscape. It was kinda ironic how the owner of Netscape was using MSIE. I can't wait to see what "The new AOL version 8.0" will use as it's web browser, when it becomes available. I hate AOL, but the more Netscape/Gecko users the better!
I used to pirate a lot for the same reasons. I was 15-18, and broke as hell. I used to belong to a users group, and we pirated everything. One person had a milk crate full of disks (hundreds of them) that he would bring to every meeting.
Now I have a job, and can afford to pay for what I use, thank god for academic pricing.
No, I am a average UNIX admin, that is why I don't work as a UNIX admin. I am actually a software developer, and wouldn't be an admin (VMS, UNIX, NT,...) unless it was the last job available.
Clustering used computers wouldn't help though, because you will waste more energy (which in turn harms the environment). Think about 50 486's (~150W/machine) having the same computing power as a new PIII 1GHz. You are using 50 times the energy to power them. I'm sure Florida Power, Edison, Mr. Burns, (insert local utility here) would love that.:-)
I think if they stop with the stupid ads (Blue Men, Aliens, etc.), they might be able to put a little more money into R&D, and be able to drop their prices a bit. AMD is actually looking like a better deal than Intel more and more everyday.
I'm sure the range of the signal emmitted will be short ~5 or 6cm max. So I don't think there should be a privacy concern. My car has the same sort of thing when you start the ignition. If the key is not encoded properly the computer doesn't turn on the feul pump.
This kinda stuff was cool back when I had my bulletin board running on my 486 (I was fifteen at the time). Now, the only time I see the inside of my PC is when I add hardware to it. If you can be amused for anymore than 5 seconds by watching the internals of a hard drive, then you have some serious issues (probably need to date more or something).:-)
There is no such thing as a 1 Ghz Mark when you are comparing archetectures. Mod the parent down -1 for 14m3r.

Yes I shoot at targets with bullseyes on them, but if you can shoot a bullseye, then you probably could hit someone where ever you wanted....
Just my $.02

Innovation through intimidation
Or, you do business with us exclusively or don't do business with us at all
Damn Moore's Law

I disagree!

I wonder if I could plug my Honda Asimo, into my Honda Civic, and just say "fsck it" to the morning commute.... :-)

Give me a break!
If I was the judge, I would throw you in jail for plagerising South Park.

Best game ever....

Even better yet, population control for the geeks. I guess video games are evolution's way of exterminating geeks... :-)

Try to find VMS admins out there. UNIX admins aren't that hard to find (a good one is though), and Microsoft MCSE's are a dime a dozen.
I never understand the hiring of someone just because they are an MCSE? Some of these people are straight from the burger fryers at McDonalds....

then just reverse the walls of the cage, therefore your EM radiation becomes external, and the whole world is in the cage. :-)
Or even better yet, what about routers which help route pirated software, MP3s, and illegal pr0n from on computer to another.
