    Isn't that basically what Sun is doing by running solaris on all of their products, from the small workstation to the UE10000? The best thing is that you don't even have to re-compile.

    Solaris is much more stable than Linux is, and I have never had a Solaris box hang or crash on me. If Sun were to ditch Solaris for Linux, they wouldn't sell any boxes (Because without solaris their boxes are just run of the mill Multi-Processor RISC boxes). On the other hand some flavors of UNIX suck! Take SGI IRIX, they should kill it, and switch to Linux, because SGI has proven that they don't have the dedication it takes to keep up an operating system....

    IANAL, but yes, it is legal to hack chinese servers. Deface their website to say "Hacked by United States", and then have the hacked servers attempt a DOS attack on www.stupidfsckingdictators.chineseTLD (make sure you use their domain name, and not IP address).

    And since IANAL don't call me when you get arrested.... :-)

    When I ask most of my IT friends about the problems with switching their enterprise to Linux, the first thing they mention is that they would spend a fortune re-training everyone.

    I live in St. Petersburg, FL which is ~10 miles from Largo, FL. The people of Largo aren't known for being really intellegent (kind of a white trash city). So I gotta think if they can understand how to use KDE, then I'm sure any local government's employees could figue it out.

    I guess most government agencies don't really care about saving money, considering tax money is basically "free" money to them.

    I live in St. Petersburg, FL, and have been to Ybor many times. I don't go anymore because of the criminal element in that part of town. If you want to find a criminal in the Tampa Bay area, Ybor is probably the best place to look... :-)

    I support the cameras, because you have no right to privacy when you are in public.

    What is there to customer service? DSL is 1-2-3 online.

    1) Plug in the telephone filters to all of your telephones.
    2) Connect DSL Modem to ethernet card, and phone jack.
    3) Plugin DSL modem

    I have verizon DSL, and it is fast, never goes down. I have never needed to call customer service for any reason (Except to order the service).

    You are wrong on all of your points,

    Yes microsoft wants to make .NET proprietary, because they want everyone to submit, and go strictly with Microsoft products. Look at what they tried to do with Java?

    On your last point, I think that stealing money from the hard working people of this country and blowing much of it on failing social programs, and giving the rest of it away to the fuck-ups (who spent their days smoking crack and procreating while I was in college) of the world is the biggest crackpot idea. eh? (A family earning $80,000/year is taxed 28%/yr (this is only federal income tax))

    Do you mean clock rate?

    We all should remember microprocessors 101 where you learn that clock rate isn't a fair measurement between two different processor archetectures. It isn't really hard to bump up the clock rate 2x when you double the length of the pipeline is it?

    Who cares about food, the useful part of the projection feature is that I can know if I have to run out and get beer without opening the door. Now if they could beam items out without opening the door (kinda like beam me up scotty), can you imagine the energy savings???

    I wouldn't be suprised if when Bill Gates clicks on his network neighborhood icon, every windows machine on the internet comes up with full access... :-)

    I bet Microsoft's websites are probably running on a "Modified" version that doesn't include this backdoor.

    Sun still supports Solaris 2.6, and provides Mantenence Updates, etc. for it. Unlike MSFT, sun actually supports older software, and doesn't expect you to buy new software every year...
