You forgot (conveniently) that the GCN does 8 hardware lights and 8 textures per pass, which IMHO, is more important than your silly overinflated non-lit polygon numbers. At least nintendo had the balls to be HONEST.
N64 actually sold faster than the PSX, at first. Sony ended up with about double the N64's install base, but 35 million units is still a hell of an install base.
and of course Perfect Dark, It was the only Mature title in the top 20 last year, and it was on a so-called kiddy console.
As for the quote, I think Yamauchi was jesting, saying 'If they don't love it, I'll kick my own ass' when in reality, he knows it'll be great...
Just to let everyone who didnt know, the $500 million is the budget for the entire first 18 months of production. Nintendo has stated that they spend above $400 million per year marketing their products, which means that Nintendo's total for 18 months is at least $100 million ahead of MS's. If you think about the cost of ads on TV and in store promotions, $500 million isnt alot of money for a year and a half, especially the first year and a half of a brand new unproven console. So I seriously doubt Xbox will be shoved down anyone's throats, especially considering that it's likely to cost a small fortune.
There's a song by Tool, Disgustipated, that sums up my feelings on the whole vegetarian issue.
And the angel of the lord came unto me, snatching me up from my place of slumber. And took me on high, and higher still until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself. And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own midwest. And as we descended, cries of impending doom rose from the soil. One thousand, nay a million voices full of fear. And terror possesed me then. And I begged, "Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?" And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots! You see, Reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust." And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared, "Hear me now, I have seen the light! They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers!" Can I get an amen? Can I get a hallelujah? Thank you Jesus.

This is what happens with my DSL from Bellsouth in louisville Ky. I'm certain that the greedy bastards are capping my ass. I really cant complain though, as I ALWAYS get the advertised rates (1.5 mbps/256 kbps) for 40$ a month. The line tests at around 2180/450 kbps at dslreports and the msn speed tester, but i never get that on actual downloads, always 1.5 mbps. I guess I can't complain though, I can DL iso images in like an hour, and I've never had any outages. Don't get the self install kit though. The shitty ass USB efficient networks peice of shit they send you has to reload its firmware all the time, and is a general pain in the ass. Nothing sucks like playing a boss in Diablo 2 on hardcore realms when your modem decides to reload it's firmware. byebye lvl 47 paladin.....

Besides which, he's immortal, you gotta cut his head off, and I haven't been able to get close enough yet. I got a job interview at Nintendo of Japan, so maybe....
Joking aside, its still possible for square to make games for nintendo systems, because the president doesn't have the final say about which games get published. I wouldnt wanna be the guy that ok'd the square games tho.. yamauchi will break out his immortal mage skills on yo ass!
Its probably different at eastern, because it is a school that has computer magnet classes. My school has electronic engineering and telecommunications, which takes up a good 2 hours of my day downloading mp3. Don't you love the uses of your tax dollars....
I live in Louisville too, and all windows at my high school. I have seen 1 PC running linux though, which surprised me. It was a 486 running mandrake 6.x though, i guess I cant be picky....
At least I go to a technical magnet school (southern), so I dont have to deal with too much bullshit. No Macs or clarisworks, and we have a nice T3 connection, so I can sneak in my lappy and play starcraft in geometry.... the teachers are mostly fucking dunces, but the students are worse I suppose.
If you can't remember what game you are playing, I say you need to lay off the crack pipe just for a little while. And the screen is a little dim, but I'd rather have a dim screen than a shitty battery life...
I know this, I fried my hand pretty badly once with a mixture of aluminum dust and solid rocket fuel. I got to skip school for like 3 weeks tho... and got a bunch of heavy duty painkillers...
Yes, the waste from certain reactions can be reused as fuel a second time, but the waste from the recycled fuel is much more difficult to safely store, which is the reason we don't do it I think... I'm not that sure about statistic or anything though....
Theres plenty of proof that some SUVS are much less safe than other types of cars. There are also many reasons for this. SUVS are much more likely to flip in accidents, and are much more likely to be overloaded. Most people don't realize that 5 men can put a Ford explorer over its weight limit, increasing the risk of flips even more. Some SUVs are safer, like jeep wranglers and some of the range rovers... but to assume that a bigger car is safer is fallacious at best...
They can be, if they are planned right... and built in the right areas.... But most of the time, they are extremely harmful to local ecosystems, but the do create a new ecosystem at the same time... it just depends....
finally, someone who agrees with my thoughts on nuclear power...
Nuclear power is cleaner than almost any othe source of power, except hydro and wind, which aren't very efficient, and hydro fucks up local ecosystems too much to be used very often...
Which is really no suprprise, as the electric car has no tranmission, no gears... just a steady acceleration to maximum speed, which is 90 MPH in this case... If you have to switch gears 4 or 5 times while accelerating, its definately going to take longer than just stepping on a pedal...
I agree completely, and I even consider myself a borderline pacifist, unless someone really completely pisses me off. Zero tolerance is just a way of saying 'I am too lazy to actually judge anyone's motives and reasons for doing something, so I'll give everyone the same punishment'...
But this is quite the silliest thing I've ever read, If I was him I'd be quite pissed off, until they returned my PC... lol
A PS2? thats not very much for 20,000 gbits.... lol. But seeing as how im only getting 45 KBps of sourceforge, i doubt even an oc192 would help much. and my ISP (bellsouth) even uses exodus as well... hmm oh well, source forge must be insanely busy...
That would actually be a terabit, or 1/8th of a terabyte. so in reality you would need arount 14-15 disks. Either way, you have to count the volume, not the area. This is holographic storage after all.
