Motorola and Nextel have put together: a cell phone, GPS, internet connection, Java programability. With this it is easy to track a cell phone, how long until we are required to carry on of these along with our driver's license? What? you don't want to? You must have something to hide, you must be a terrorist!

It does Auto bracketing, +/- 3 or 5 steps of 0.3, 0.7, or 1.0 stops. The camera has so many features I have barely begun to explore them. This isn't a Camera that has a computer controlling it, It is a computer that takes pictures. In manual mode it has: 7 different white balance modes, 4 differnt light metering modes, 4 different "film speed" simulations, 3 focus modes, 5 different multi-shot options. I just keep it on automatic mode and it takes great pictures no matter what you throw at; from sunsets to still life flower arangments:
Thank you for the drug company example, that was who I was thinkig of. I do take issue with your claiming patents are inherantly different. For example, the diesel engine was invented to get around patents on the the gasoline internal combustion engine, so in this case a patent actualy spurred an advance-exactly what the framers of the constsitution had in mind
So you are saying congressmen have soceity's interests in mind when they make laws and not next years election...right. The monopolies for copyright and patent used to be about the same in duration. One has changed way out of proportion than the other. I am not saying that 20-30 years of monopoly is not enough to recoup your investment and any longer doesn't hurt everyone, it does. But what are the underlying reasons for one to change and one to stay the same?
I was there this morning and in the hours before we were finally let in many discusions of the issues took place. I have always wondered why copyrights have been extended from the original 28 years, while patents have remained almost unchanged at 20 years. Of course the answer comes down to money. There are competeing monied interests on both sides of the patent issue, while the public domain is not contributing anything to congressmen to hold the expansion of copyright in check
You need to get people to deposit their Paypal dollars with you. You offer them say 6% interest. As soon as you get any paypals you redeem them for USD$ This action puts pressure on paypal to keep coming up with cash. Eventually they have to devalue their currancy. When they change the exchange rate to.8 USD$ to 1 Paypal you buy back paypals and restore everyones account. This is how George Soros made over 1 billion USD$. Instead of paypals he did the same thing with 3rd world currencies
Since the SDSL equipment you are using does not use the voice bandwidth, have you thought of getting a PBX and supplying telephone service? You could at least have intercom service between subscribers
According to this report Bush owes much to Enron's and by extension Enron's generous employee/shareholders
the list of companies providing such discounted travel reads almost identical to the list of major contributors to Bush's presidential campaign. Enron Corp, whose employees gave more than $118,000 to Bush, was reimbursed almost $60,000 for 14 flights during the campaign, including
two flights reported after Election Day.
Why hasn't a special prosecuter been appointed like Starr was for Clinton's minor Whitewater dealings. Bush basically took money out of peoples 401k by using the corporate jet of a company that was failing

You don't need a full blown PC just to monitor the temperature and control a couple of motors. My RCM 2200 does this task for just $55
Their enconomy has been in the doldrums for 10 years but long term thinking and a relentless focus on the customer will bring them around. Check out this quote from the web page:
All of the Solar Batteries used in the Solar Ark where collected from customers who had solar cell modules that did not meet standard output requirements discovered last year. The "Solar Ark" represents SANYO employee's commitment to not forget the lesson learned from the power deficient module incident that occurred last year. Furthermore the system will serve as a useful device to actively test the basic performance of the modules in order to regain customers confidence in using SANYO Solar Batteries.
Compare that attitude with Firestone's policy of deny and cover-up when people's lives were at stake
There is no law that requires you to get a UL listing, they are a private company. However, some retailers may not carry your product unless it is UL listed. If the product is less than 32 volts UL considers that "low voltage" and does not even list it. For example there is no UL label on GameBoys or Palm Pilots. The charger on the other hand plugs into the wall and does carry a UL listing. Is there any way to power your product through a "wall wart" transformer? You can buy these already UL listed and not have to bear the $10000+ expense of getting your product listed.
Carly thinks that since they lucked-out with the laser printer that they are now a consumer products company. I am annoyed with the attempeted separtion from the core values of a test equipment manufacturer with the Agilent spinoff, how many millions were wasted on ads on sporting events for the Agilent brand, a total and complete waste of money. I used to respect HP as a company of smart people, but no more

There you go again confusing the two. When you drive a car off a dealers lot you deprive him of the use of the car while enriching yourself by that same use. A zero sum situation. When you make an un-licensed copy of a program the copyright holder still has everything he had before you made the copy. Making an un-licensed copy is more akin to breaking a lease with a landlord, where stealing would be burning the place down, you must admit there is a difference
So you are saying that if I go into a store and put a copy of The Sims under my jacket and walk out without paying it is the same as burning an illegal copy of a friend's game? I have to disagree
I know it has been said before, but this quote makes me mad.
"It is a risk most other businesses don't have to deal with - having 34% of your product stolen," BSA's president Robert Holleyman told the conference.
Why do they insist on equating an illegal copy with a stolen copy. The "thief" in the stolen copy case has not deprived the owner of the copyright of anything, the victim still has everything he had before the "theft"
