Nuclear power is safe when done properly; full stop.
Therein lies part of the problem I think - yes it is safe, but people read that as saying its *perfectly* safe which of course is not the case - nothing is %100 safe. Trouble is, people seem to demand that of nuclear.
Yup, exactly the same thing happened here in Queensland, Australia. I used to buy my power direct from the energery company (Energex) that produced it and maintained the power lines. When shit went wrong I could talk direct to them.
Now I buy power for more from a company that only specialises in billing and problems are dealt with via an Indian call center.
I must disagree most strongly with that - hidef responsive and beautiful graphics, gorgeous sound track, in depth game play - much better than any flash game.
Already done for some time. From personal experience (various myth setups) the NVidia chipsets support HDMI output with upto 7.1 surrond sound, natively supported on Ubuntu.
Wait for the follow up post in 6 months time - "I've inherited a IT mess from this college kid who was given a carte blanch to set it up and just screwed around on slashdot - what should I do? dump it all and start from scratch? the company is in Chapter 11"
I believe the term, when applied to 30+ year old adults, is murder. Unless you have a television-idiocy prenatal genetic test you haven't told us about.
I think the phrase "retroactive abortion" is the term you are looking for.
but you're probably right as only "Conservative Republicans" still care about separation of powers in our federal apparatus
You say that after eight years of Bush executive expansions and abuses cheered on by the republican party and voters and your head *doesn't* explode from the cognitive dissonance!!?
Israel is noticeably, quite literally, greener than its neighbours.
That's why they deserve that land, they take better care of it.
Bullshit. Israel is destroying it - this "making the desert bloom" crap is destroying the water aquifers there which is one of reasons Israel is pulling so many provocative actions with Lebanon, they want an opportunity to seize access to the Litani river.
The Palestinians have literally spent centuries developing olive grove orchards which are very sustainable in desert climes. Then "settlers" bulldoze them down and plant Orange groves and other such water intensive plants such as Celery, exhausting the local aquifers, leaving just a fraction of water they've pissed in for the Palestinians.
It would still be nice to have a single way to keep my bookmarks from my work machine in sync with my home machines and my mobile devices without exerting much effort.
You could set your browser prefs to save their bookmarks to Dropbox, and then they'd be the same everywhere.
I do that with my konqueror/rekonq bookmarks, works a treat.
Word. I recently moved my wife's desktop to Kubuntu 10.04. Its just a low power Atom but its easily powerful enough for web/email/wp/basic games which is all she wants.
I tweaked the desktop and menu to the same layout as her windows desktop, installed wine and some old windows games she's addicted to (they worked perfectly under wine). Setup Thunderbird and Firefox, which was what she used under windows and added some desktop links to the KDE card games.
No problems from day one, she was straight into it. Now addicted to the KDE games:)
No, it indicates the old saw - "Reality has a liberal bias". He did indeed never say Isreal must be wiped of the map, rather he said "The Regime ruling Israel must vanish from the sands of time". i.e he called for Regime change.
Actually no, what I'm referring to is distro's as is quite clearly stated in my post in an attempt to forestall kneejerk Stallman pedantry. Obviously I failed.
Actually it does and Israel has the nukes to do it. Whereas, despite us MEMRI misinformation, Iran has never threatened to destroy Israel.
I use both, find them both excellent. I'd put them on a par feature and usability wise.
Yup. 98% of cases in the USA are plea bargained. This is not a justice system that works, or even Justice.
Agreed, using KDE 4.4.5 (Kubuntu 10.04) its perfectly usable on my Atom 510, booting windows it ran at a crawl.
Kindle - round 4 weeks. Takes less than 30 minutes to charge.
I had lots of books, then my house flooded (Brisbane). Now I have lots of pulp.
However my eBooks are fine, even if I lost my Kindle I can access them online - plus I have them backed up independent of Amazon.

Bastard :)
Osmos isn't as good as dozens of free Flash games

When I think of countries contributing to global peace, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt, etc. don't come to mind in the first place.
Given that Iran hasn't invaded another country in *centuries* I'd say your mind is pretty empty of critical thought.
Where's the "Drunk on the Kool Aid" mod when you need it ...
Already done for some time. From personal experience (various myth setups) the NVidia chipsets support HDMI output with upto 7.1 surrond sound, natively supported on Ubuntu.
I imagine ATI etc are also supported for this.

Rekonq still crashes each time I go to google maps. Latest git commit crashes on startup
Probably an issue with restoring the session, try deleting ".kde/share/apps/rekonq/session"

And America
32 Bit binaries are there now.
Or has this large growth served us well, exemplified by no successful terrorist acts on US soil since 9/11?
Is the submitter a complete idiot? remember those little letters full of Anthrax much?
Why do people keep saying this? its a completely weird oversight, especially as it was never credibly settled.
