exactly how is the per-person Federal debt such a burden on the middle class? Like any other government debt, it won't be paid for generations, so what good is that as a measurement? Besides, no one is taxed on a per-person basis, so why would "distributing the debt" have to be? People like to complain about the amounts of the tax cuts "rich" people receive, but it still is dwarfed by what they have to pay in. The "rich" created by the dot-com bubble created the 90s surplus, unfortunately, not the govt. It's too bad though that any brakes on spending has more to being an obstructionist for the other party than trying to be fiscally responsible. The Federal budget has more to do with trading favors and paying for votes than it does funding what the Constitution demands and has been that way for decades.

  13. sharing games on XNA Game Studio Express Beta Now Available · · Score: 1
I thought that this bit from the FAQ was kinda interesting:

Q: How exactly can I share my 360 game to other 360 users? Will my game only be available to people with the XNA "Creators Club" subscription? Will it be available to all 360 users that have an Xbox Live account?

A: There is currently no supported way to share binaries on the Xbox 360. Currently, there are four requirements that must be met in order to share a game targeting Xbox 360 which is developed with XNA Game Studio Express.

    1. The individual you are planning to share the game with must be logged in to Xbox Live and have an active subscription to the XNA Creators Club

    2. The receiving user must have downloaded the XNA Framework runtime environment for the Xbox 360

    3. The receiving user must have XNA Game Studio Express installed on their own development PC

    4. The game project, including all source and content assets, must be shared with the receiving user. The receiving user then compiles and deploys the game to their Xbox 360.

That sounds a little like how people shared Unix programs before linux or free versions of BSD were available: must have an account on university/work machine with the development kit installed (after Sun & others started unbundling the compilers and charging for dev kits..grr), you get the source and compile it for your own copy. :)

I don't really care if it works with iTunes or not, but you can always navigate to where iTunes stores the MP3 files and copy them to the device. It will play them like any other MP3 file. If I meant that it's integrated with iTunes, I would have written that. OS X != iTunes.

In addition to editing, emacs also has support for kicking off a compile and the user can then jump to each line of code that caused the compiler to spit out an error or warning. For debugging, it will start gdb and you can move around in the code to set breakpoints, step through code, etc. I've been using GNU emacs as my main development tool for 15 or 16 years. I've had to use other IDEs while taking training classes for C#, Java, Visual C++, etc., but I still prefer emacs.

According to the FISA legislation, the government can intercept communications w/o a warrant, but if they want to use it, they have 72 hours to get a warrant. If they do not, they have to destroy the information. So basically, they could have a copy of every communication anyone in the world has made over a 3 day period. Ones that look appear to be promising could be used to get a warrant and would be kept as evidence once the warrant is granted. The others would be deleted once they are 72 hours old.

Is this what is being ruled unconstitutional? If not, how does the above senario differ from what the judge's ruling is supposed to block?
