    I wouldn't be surprised if someone has already patented that gesture.

    My gesture to the patent office is: ring and little finger and then thumb folded on the palm, middle and index finger in a V hand moved from horizontal to vertical with back of hand toward the recipient.

    (I was born in a commonwealth country, and the cesture dates back to the hundred years war.

    (But actually I'd rather not be at work when theres one of those test alerts - its bad enough trying to explain a real storm to some of the confused residents.

    The biggest army would have to be that of the PRC. However since China doesn't have the biggest navy or airforce they don't have nearly as much dominance in worldwide strategy.

    As far as narrating a story, or documentary I have always frefered male british voices. (Richard Burton, Patrick Stewart, John Hurt, Sir John Geilgud) but then I was born in a Commonwealth country.

    WTF is an air distillation plant?

    Normally you distill liquids, so to distill 'air' would be a cryogenic operation,.very expensive in money and energy.

    Its possible to make helium out of heavy hydrogen, and you can get a lot of energy in the process. Stars have been doing this for umpteen billion years.
    Getting a sustainable reaction here on earth has so far not been achieved, but it will be done in a few decades or so.

    AFAIK the Senate has to ratify all treaties by a super majority (something like 60 or 67 senators in favour, even if the House passes it.

    (Not that it matters of course I am sure the senators are all bought and paid for by the IP industry.

    What I don't understand is why when there is a group of ships (of the same species) moving in formation are all at the same orientation. You would think that they would be better tactically aligned in different ways so that all directions are covered by their weapons.

    No, the Teleporting device plans came by radio singnal (along with a few prime numbers and the TV broadcast of Hitler at the 36 olympics.

    The first message that was found in pi was a circle drawn in 1's and zeros in base eleven.

    This was in the book anyway, I think they left the whole pi thing out of the movie.
