    Is that counting europe and Asia separately or as one big one? (And what about Afric since its also joined to Asia.
    So if you count EurasiAfrica as 1, North America, and South America as 2 and 3, then Antarctica is the 4th largest
    (Actually doesn't that make it the smallest continent?
    (Australia is the worlds largest Island, not a continent.

    Metres are a bit small for measuring astronomical distances. For things inside the solar system the Astronomical Unit (AU) is used, (Its the average distance from the earth to the sun, (For americans, 93 million miles)

    I think that Andromeda will reach voyager first (Its due to collide with the milky way in a billion years or so)

    The headline starts with the words "Cricket Reactor" but there doesn't seem to be any mention in the summary of the comments of crickets, or reactors
    This is Slashdot so I didn't read RTFA

    I am guessing that Cricket refers to the insect rather than the sport played by India, Pakistan, The West Indies, Australia, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

    Kuwait is a joke? It was worth the western aligned world going to war over in 1991. Other countries on that list are oil rich as well. (Like Brunei, you may have never heard of it, but the Sultan is one of the richest men in the world). And United Arab Emirates bankrolled the NZ boat which nearly took the Americas cup from Larry Ellison ...

    USA is getting more and more of its fossil fuel from withing the American continent (and just offshore) rather than from the middle east.
    The increase in demand for middle eastern oil is from Asia mostly
    There was a big article in NatGeo magazine a couple months ago.

    This is New Zealand - there are no hockey 'pucks' - hockey is played on grass (too warm for ice) with a ball.

    As a matter of interest in navigational terms the Red light (on a ship or plane) is on the left. (Port side, remember port wine is red)

    How about a rollon-rolloff cargo ship? Or a supertanker? The bulk of the worlds commodities are still transported by sea (even to and from the most isolated of nations like NZ.
    The limitation of a 747 would be the weight it could carry, rather than volume (microSD cards sink so they are heavier than water.

    I guess you don't understand orbital dynamics, it would take a huge amount of fuel to get it to a lunar orbit. (or even to get it to earth escape velocity.

    How old is XP ?
    If hackers haven't found holes in Win XP by now, they never will

    And theres also 3rd party antivirus and firewall software, I presume that the commercial security software will be continue for subscribers.

    Ask someone why they are still running XP and yo9u will probably get the answer that they have legacy software that doesn't work on newer versions of the OS, or they like the old interface. They are not likely to want to go to a completely different OS that looks different and won't run the old software.
