This is stupid..it'd been the Persian Gulf for a long time, why change it. It'd be like people demanding we change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to "Gulf of Texas".

It's a freaking body of water that everyone uses..can we just label the thing the Persian Gulf and move on to more important issues?

When were we able to start testing for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? I'm with Anonymous, its obvious we are changing, but what is up for debate is how natural it is, and if we want to stop it. I'd like to see what the level of carbon dioxide was in the atmosphere was a few hundred thousand years ago, and its rate of change over the years..

I've been trying to figure out what it was for years now and cannot remember the name..I remember when AOL changed their games to a pay structure, it left. I remember someone created a basic graphical hud for it right afterwards but for the life of me can not remember the name...

anyways, I think that game is basically what everyone wants, just graphical instead of text based and sandboxed where you can "create" the worlds..

+1 I was going to make a similar reply. The whole point is so developers can make their game run on 4 year old hardware, optimized of course. This is why so many console games don't look as nice as their PC counterparts..but they do play on 4 year old hardware.

the other nice benefit of consoles is multiplayer, everyone is on equal hardware. Where as in the PC world, someone playing on 4 year old hardware might not be able to perform as well as someone with the latest and greatest system (think fps)...that is one benefit of consoles.

I can tell you my wife and I have found a few businesses that will get repeat business from us, solely because we found them through groupon.

For instance: car detailing. you drive by a detailer every day, but something just puts you off about them. You find they're offering a groupon for 20 bucks for a 120 detail. you say "hmm..20 bucks, I'll eat 20 bucks to test them." And it turns out they're definately worth 120. Not only do you decide to take your car there every few months, but you start telling people.

For companies, its just marketing; loss leaders. Which when done right is a proven business tool.

No. They provide limited internet access packaged as "Residential." Read the fine print. I don't think its a secret that they block port 25, in fact I want to say all the ISP's put out big announcements when they started doing so. Also, by signing that contract you agreed to not run any servers.

Taken from the TOS at: Verizon Internet Access Terms of Service

"Restrictions on Use. The Service is a consumer grade service and is not designed for or intended to be used for any commercial purpose. You may not resell, re-provision or rent the Service, (either for a fee or without charge) or allow third parties to use the Service via wired, wireless or other means. For example, you may not provide Internet access to third parties through a wired or wireless connection or use the Service to facilitate public Internet access (such as through a Wi-Fi hotspot), use it for high volume purposes, or engage in similar activities that constitute such use (commercial or non-commercial). If you subscribe to a Broadband Service, you may connect multiple computers/devices within a single home to your modem and/or router to access the Service, but only through a single Verizon-issued IP address. You also may not exceed the bandwidth usage limitations that Verizon may establish from time to time for the Service, or use the Service to host any type of server. Violation of this section may result in bandwidth restrictions on your Service or suspension or termination of your Service."

Do I agree with you that we should be able to do this stuff? Yeah. I run my own services (tversity, vent, etc.)..just not a mail server. hehe
