This is stupid..it'd been the Persian Gulf for a long time, why change it. It'd be like people demanding we change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to "Gulf of Texas".
It's a freaking body of water that everyone uses..can we just label the thing the Persian Gulf and move on to more important issues?
" going back at least several hundred thousand years, the rate of rise of atmospheric carbon dioxide has never come anywhere near what we are seeing now.."
Could you link to your source? I'm curious where the data is on this for the several hundred thousand years ago.
When were we able to start testing for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? I'm with Anonymous, its obvious we are changing, but what is up for debate is how natural it is, and if we want to stop it. I'd like to see what the level of carbon dioxide was in the atmosphere was a few hundred thousand years ago, and its rate of change over the years..
This is at least true in Baghdad: US personnel can purchase pirated movies from merchants right in the greenzone.
I find it hard to believe that the MPAA and RIAA would care to shut down any stream of R&R to the troops that allow them to sit comfortably in their air conditioned offices.
Because as any corrupt government has found, you don't alienate the army. (or a soldier who might come back with mental issues..)
I mean if they have big burly men going at it I'd believe all the hooplah, but have you SEEN the mass effect vids? Its two hot girls. With starwars, I don't believe any of the LBGT stuff is 2 men..just women, again.
This isn't LGBT...this is straight up interactive pr0n for men.
yes, AOL. Hey, I just graduated highschool and my parents had aol..and it was free.
Does anyone remember that sapce economy game on AOL that was text based, you started out getting a basic pilot license and a cheap ship, then you could be a transporter of commodities, supplier or trader? you could own planets or galaxies or just a business on a planet?
I've been trying to figure out what it was for years now and cannot remember the name..I remember when AOL changed their games to a pay structure, it left. I remember someone created a basic graphical hud for it right afterwards but for the life of me can not remember the name...
anyways, I think that game is basically what everyone wants, just graphical instead of text based and sandboxed where you can "create" the worlds..
Similar, after watching some lucky person get a royal flush on progressive video poker...she shouted "wahoo, I've been trying to get this for 6 years!"
So does that darn rock music these kids listen too..look at this song, its like they want these kids breakin the law!?
Well, I'm not braggin', babe, so don't put me down But I've got the fastest set of wheels in town When something comes up to me, he don't even try 'Cause if it had a set of wings, man, I know she can fly
Just a little Deuce Coupe with a flathead mill But she'll walk a Thunderbird like it's standin' still She's ported and relieved and she's stroked and bored She'll do a hundred and forty in the top end floored
you mean from the perspective of businesses that Apple has stood upon?
On my windows mobile 6 phone, I had a "slide to unlock" screen; So how many billions of dollars did Apple spend R&D'ing that?
I'm sorry, but Apple is everything they used to speak out against, they are the suits. The amount of "new" things that Apple has patented is very small. Everything else is just a tweak from something else.
Because apple knows they won't be able to sell a phone that costs 1k just to make. They do it at the cheapest place that'll provide decent Quality Control. Just like everyone else making stuff in other countries. We *could* manufacturer stuff here, but due to Labor Laws, it won't be as cheap.
When you go to buy a TV, do you take price into the equation, or is it purely feature based?
Blame consumers. Ultimately we don't care *who* makes it..only that someone does and the price is right.
+1 I was going to make a similar reply. The whole point is so developers can make their game run on 4 year old hardware, optimized of course. This is why so many console games don't look as nice as their PC counterparts..but they do play on 4 year old hardware.
the other nice benefit of consoles is multiplayer, everyone is on equal hardware. Where as in the PC world, someone playing on 4 year old hardware might not be able to perform as well as someone with the latest and greatest system (think fps)...that is one benefit of consoles.
however, using explosive ammo will make the tank explode.
look up fpsrussia on youtube, the acr video.
just so we're still on track, not all pinto's were an issue. I believe it was only the sedan, at least I believe that's what an owner told me once. hehe
I can tell you my wife and I have found a few businesses that will get repeat business from us, solely because we found them through groupon.
For instance: car detailing. you drive by a detailer every day, but something just puts you off about them. You find they're offering a groupon for 20 bucks for a 120 detail. you say "hmm..20 bucks, I'll eat 20 bucks to test them." And it turns out they're definately worth 120. Not only do you decide to take your car there every few months, but you start telling people.
For companies, its just marketing; loss leaders. Which when done right is a proven business tool.
No. They provide limited internet access packaged as "Residential." Read the fine print. I don't think its a secret that they block port 25, in fact I want to say all the ISP's put out big announcements when they started doing so. Also, by signing that contract you agreed to not run any servers.
"Restrictions on Use. The Service is a consumer grade service and is not designed for or intended to be used for any commercial purpose. You may not resell, re-provision or rent the Service, (either for a fee or without charge) or allow third parties to use the Service via wired, wireless or other means. For example, you may not provide Internet access to third parties through a wired or wireless connection or use the Service to facilitate public Internet access (such as through a Wi-Fi hotspot), use it for high volume purposes, or engage in similar activities that constitute such use (commercial or non-commercial). If you subscribe to a Broadband Service, you may connect multiple computers/devices within a single home to your modem and/or router to access the Service, but only through a single Verizon-issued IP address. You also may not exceed the bandwidth usage limitations that Verizon may establish from time to time for the Service, or use the Service to host any type of server. Violation of this section may result in bandwidth restrictions on your Service or suspension or termination of your Service."
Do I agree with you that we should be able to do this stuff? Yeah. I run my own services (tversity, vent, etc.)..just not a mail server. hehe

university of phoenix does.
they're trying to fix that too.
I'm being sarcastic...sorta.

Can we even handle the forces needed to get to mach20, sustaining for 3 minutes, and back to 0?
I asked a friend who owns a Nissan Leaf and he's getting 100+, maybe it depends on what type of traffic (time spent on vs actual miles)?
seriously?

Kind of like Volkswagon giving free Mountain Bikes with their Jetta's?

no, its the new AOL. Which, to me, should be the one thing no company wants to be.
I converted to chrome, and I still use adblock.

Taken from the TOS at: Verizon Internet Access Terms of Service
