I sent the developers a request on each item and recieved a response within 15 - 20 minutes saying that those features were in the works.
I upgraded my account to a paid account at that moment due to the fact that they had responded personally to my email quicker than most companies respond with automated responses.
I can't say enough of this product. It's been a God send to us at Tolkien Online.

The reason they mentioned this is a way to make back the money they have to invest to purchase the new fangaled things. Look at it from the company who is developing them. More tickets = More Money = More money to buy our thingy.
Trust me this is how it will work, you know those camera systems on lights in most major cities are sold as a turn key operational system. And they pay for themselves. So expect more to be showing up everywhere. It's viral.
Ted
When people send me Excel files, I kindly ask them to re-send the file in CSV or some other format. Yes, there are things you can only do in native file format. But the vast majority of users never do those things.
Well, I see you never have to deal with people who are normal business users.
I'm not trying to be mean, but I find that normal business users don't know how to do much of the fancy stuff in Excel or any of their other programs. The most common usage of Excel I've found is glorified forms. Oh, I'm not saying that its not used for what it really can be used for, but in those cases the person doing the Excel work is usually an Analyst who is working for the person who is actually consuming the reports.
The idea here is to give the normal business user a replacement for the expensive office product.
And as far as innovating and flanking Microsoft on the Spreadsheet market. Its a spreadsheet, there really isn't much more that can be done to the product to innovate it. Copying Microsoft is a great place to start.
Look at Microsoft's innovation in Excel over the last couple of editions. YEAH SMART TAGS!. That's about it. Oh I know there is more, but come on the market has been dead years now. The only place left to compete is on Price.
OK, so the stream isn't high quality (like radio), you generally don't have the ability to choose which songs you listen to on the stream (like radio) and on top of all this, this can tie the streaming audio problems togehter with the digital media problem.
This might be a good comprimise.
Now granted you can pay to get a higher quality stream and more features like the ability to choose the songs on the stream would be a nice way to make some money off all this.
I bet Real doesn't like the idea of Apple not supporting their format.
That combined with their other losses these last couple of weeks, I just suspect the statement was made to make it sound like they are still a contender.
I think this is a great idea! Microsoft's reputation with AOL's reputation.
Who knew the jokes would be this easy.
On a more serious note: The sad thing about this really is how bad AOL has managed the last 4 or 5 years. At least Microsoft will be able to recognize the value of AOL more tha T-W did.
Yeah, I love J.R.R. Tolkien and I like that he's popular, without becoming too non-geeky. You can tell a lot about a person if they know anything about Tolkiens' books. Now every four year old is going to have seen a movie about it, robbing them even of the chance to experience the wonderful world of Middle-earth *first hand*. I can not imagine what it would be like if I hadn't read the books first and based everything off a movie...
This would be one of the worst things that could happen to a kid, literarily. Tolkien was a memorable portion of my adolescence escape.
Why do people need to believe this is some conspriracy. Bad Code/= a vast conspiracy to steal the election. Bad Code = Bad Code.
Lets get upset at that.
Bad code on a voting machine = potential to steal the election, but until you have proof please keep your fingerpointing to yourself. Both sides of the political debate here in the States and abroad would love to steal an election.
For us American's, our legal system is like a free TV channel: mostly crap, but sometimes a true gem is broadcasted.
On the other hand, please pitty us.
The real question will be what happens to all your music you don't have downloaded but have rights to on a server owned by a company now in Chapter 11?
Ted
I don't mean to sound rude, but wasn't this the business model all along.
1. Create Cool player 2. Distribute Content for cheap 3. Become Standard by which everyone else judges you by. 4. Establism market dominance 5. Profit on Player! 6. Raise price on Content or lower cost of distribution. 7. Profit on Content!
I don't seen anything new or mysterious there... And for the rest of you, you now have a couple more steps on that profit model you've been working on!

As with most real conservatives, we disagree with the sitting president.
What a horrible choice is left to us come November.

Isn't is amazing how we think guilt is a state of mind and not a state of being?
A man was flooring the gas pedal, and he didn't even break before he hit someone.
Sounds like he was being an idiot.
Why are people so upset about things like this? I'm curious. What evern happened to personal responsibility?
Ted
No I'm not. I love my Ipod as well, but I think the mini is a lot nicer looking than my 40gb.
This is why geeks have such a bad rap and a hard time in the real world. LOOKS MATTER. Say it with me again. APPEARANCES MATTER, LOOKS Matter.

IS that the Airforces Transformation plan or their Transformers Plan.... More than meets the eye....
That's the rub of it... You are using someone elses computer. And you expect privacy. There is a need to protect the equiptment and the computer.
Here is another list of changes. We have had this one up for a couple years now. Some of it has not been updated in a while, but, it is rather complete.

Macromedia Contribute is right up your alley. $99 last time I checked. And very idiot proof.
Check it out

Establism... Got to love quick typing and slow thinking. Always creates a lot of humor when you can't go back and edit it. Ted
