The Ottawa Linux Symposium Back Years Are Available Online. There are some very detailed and technical presentations. I liked the treatment of Rsync from 2000 "The Rsync Algorithm", highly recommended.
Couldn't Open Source programming be considered contract labor, for release under the applicable license? If you contribute to the Linux Kernel your work is GPL and you did that work knowing it would be GPL. I don't see why it shouldn't be credited under Work Experience. As for compensation the attribution of contributed modules should fall under fixed rate compensation, in this case whuffie: The new new economy.

I have mirrored the screen shots and the Binary release 1.01 from Friday the 23rd on my daily blog. Enjoy the screenshots, and feel free to check out the rest of the content. Screen Shots and 1.01 binary
I like Thompsons computer warehouse as well. Calling your CC company to add your shipping address to your Credit Card Bill To address will eliminate the delay for verification calls. I've ordered four processors from them in the past three months. Excellent shipping time. Excellent price and exactly as advertised. I prefer the OEM versions. But they sell Boxed as well. Can't vouch for the price on the Boxed as I've never bought one like that.
Another site I like is TC Computers now part of Insight.com. The memory from All Components has performed well for me. They also have better selection of accessories and addons. I like the ThermalTake heatsink cooling fans.
They have a collection of white papers and editorials. Particularly see Why Identity Now? I can't guarantee it is the next big thing, but it's close enough to pay close attention.
Bastille is a script that asks you questions, and proceeds to tighten down your Redhat or Mandrake installation, extra effort has been put into explaning the choices, and making sure you understand WHY something was done. Here's the summary: The Bastille Hardening System attempts to "harden" or "tighten" the Linux operating system. It currently supports Red Hat and Mandrake systems, with support on the way for Debian, SuSE, TurboLinux and HP-UX. We attempt to provide the most secure, yet usable, system possible. The project is run by Jon Lasser, Lead Coordinator and Jay Beale, Lead Developer, and involves a number of developers, beta-testers and concept-creators. Bastille Linux was developed with several major goals:
Sounds like you could use a Progammable Logic Controller, MatPLC is working on GPL'd PLC hardware and software. There is a mailing list. This sort of question could be posted there. Or check out A-List another good resource.

Linux Textbooks?

DjVu format is Wavlet Based with OCR I have tried the Solo version, file sizes were incredibly small. A nice feature is that the Tiff is compressed to a wavlet compression technology, and if you buy the full version you can add an OCR layer which means you can text search. The sample content demonstrates the systems capabilities.
Many libraries are converting rare books and manuscripts because it preserves the original image so well.
Take a look at Comprehensive Medical Billing and Coding Services, they offer a complete service package. All HIPPA and reg's covered. Yes it runs on AS/400 and I'm sure they would be glad to discuss porting if you require a Linux environment. Personal attention means your requirements are met at every step of the project.

is link to comparisons of Bitkeeper to CVS, Perforce, PRCS etc.
Distributed under variant of GPL http://www.bitkeeper.com/4.4.2.html they have restricitions on redistributing modified versions of their code, but this seems to only require Regression testing by Bitkeeper, to allow derivative works to be redistributed.
Bought one last week to replace an ATX Turbo model 300 watt from PC power and cooling. The 275 ATX Silencer model is terrific. The difference is incredible, I now only hear a slight sound from the case power supply, and can discern the CPU cooling fan.
From 44 db down to 34 db.

Nice of them to give Microsoft time to react and give them a chance to release an offical software patch.
Will Microsoft do it? I doubt it. I expect to see this out shortly and the touted side effects of mod chipless piracy to boot.
Microsoft should release this Digitally Signed Boot Loader Now

Not Maxtor!
I like Maxtor Products better.
No dead Maxtor drives yet, I have a few Seagates that died and gave up on WD.

LPI Linux Certification in a Nutshell is very good, since it is preping you to certify for LPI 101 and LPI 102 it contains excersies and questions.
