I'm thinking for the thetrical release they would dub it so more people go and watch it (like a main stream movie), but for the DVD they would have to make the original language w/subtitles available.
Reason being, most of the peopel who will actually BUY the thing will be more commited fans... and from my experience the more commited fans prffer subtites. I will say that some dubbing jobs were quite watchable (Mononoke Hime) because they used actors with real talent...
little trivia:
Megumi Hayashibara who does the voice of the femal ranma also did the voive for Pai(3x3 Eyes), Video Girl Ai, and Hello Kitty among many other roles
and Kikuko Inoye (sp?) who does the voice for Kasumi also did Beldandy and the nurse in Ogenki Clinic
so i guess most of these girls are quite multi-talented (unlike the no-talent people they usually recruit to dub anime into english)
Hmmm... Maybe my distaste for anime stems from the fact that there are no hot anime guys?
I guess it depends on what your tastes are really... The girls i've known have found the boys from Saint Seiya to be cute, and as for the Strong Dark types.. try Ashuram from Lodoss Wars or Yasha from RG Veda.. there's plenty of others, but trying to think of good looking 2 dimentional guys is not exactly inspirational for me.p
Of course the Bug exists, but the chances of it actually affecting anyone or a malicious entity taking advatage of it are next to nill in the real world...
Seems everyone has a form of plausable deniability. The rule i seem to notice when dealing with bugs in software hardware vendors is "It's cooler to add new features than fix the problems with the ones we've already got"
here's my uneducated answer:
the original thing was called minix written by a prof in finland so that he could teach his students basic unix w/o the exorberant prices. it was all his own code that just used the same types of commands etc...
linus took that idea and made a full blown kernel out of it... cause he didn't use any of the unix source is your answer
maybe i wasn't clear, but my post was in a reply to a comment asking why they are testing the p4s with ddr only and not rdram, so i was suggesting that they test rdram and ddr on the p4 solution, not the athlon
i've got an idea.. why not run the test on BOTH rdram and ddr? that way we can actually see what the difference in the two chipsets are? and then add in a little thing about th eprice differences so we cna judge that for ourselves too
please atleast use your own words and opinions. personally if i were the ones looking at these letters i'd throw out anything that had "m$", "freedom to innovate", etc. in it... i figure most of the people writting will be "encouraged" by the people who have real stakes in this and the "me tooers/what he saiders."
i have my doubts, but if they can get their act together maybe i'll have a change of heart, but this assumes that they finally start writting better code and do it for a few years to prove to us that this isn't a one time thing
i think you are partially right about the conventional wisdom, but i do feel that gtting a liberal arts degree of some sort does help make you more well rounded a person... those courses aren't called humanities for nothing
while it's true that many people who don't go to college are well rounded and many who do go to college can't tell reality from reality tv... i think the liberal arts do help some people become better people
it should hardly be the sole determiner of a prson's worth, but it sure does help in some cases...
personally i would not add a 3d video card to some of those new optiplexes... atleast the ones we recieved...
they work great, but those cases are really tightly packed... and the cpu fan blows right to the space where the agp card would fit... maybe i'm wrong, but it sounds like a heat trap waiting to happen
i too can attest to that... some of the ibms i support have been in VERY dirty environements for years and are still working strong... now if only their software worked so well *smirk*
i've used several different ibm desktops and laptops... overall i'd say their laptops are better than their desktops.. their desktop systems have left me fairly unimpressed. they were decent, but that's about it. there is also an ibm tax... last i shopped around ibm pcs seemed to be more expensive for the same product... i don't know if this has changed.
for desktop i'd recomend micron
for laptops i'd say fujitsu first, then ibm... then everyone else somewhere... though the g4 titaniums are really nice too
your question is about as easy to answer as "i've never read a book, what would you recomend?"
there are great anime and manga works from all different genre's and what you should let us know is hat kinds of films you like to watch?
most people who are willing to "risk" watching anime are action/sci-fi fans, so things like Evangelion and princess mononoke are great... if you want serious drama, comedy, love stories, car racing, high school hi-jinks, pornography, horror, whatever.. there's probably an anime that is for you...
my advise is try watching some of the ones that got the "oldtimers" to watch in the first place:
Macross, Nausicaa, Akira, Bubble Gum Crisis... basically anything from the 80's back... back then it was much harder to get anime at all, so most of what could be gotten was decent
perhaps disney should consider licencing the toys?? i know lots of girls of all ages who are crazy for totoro anything.. if they were to sell stuffed totoros and squirl-foxes alone i think it'd be a boost to their coffers and then people will want to see the movies... hey it worked for transformers and gi-joe... not to mention bandai's gundam lines
not that i'm advocating it.. but i'd prefer suicide to murder and rape myself...
one could also argue the japanese suicide rate has more to do with their history of glorious and fashionable suicides...
suicide has been a popular way of getting what you want, defying authority, avoiding shame, or even making a political statement even from their ancient days
thank you for the pointer, i'll go check it out when i have time.
me, i just have my opinions based on the limited amount of reading i've done. as for being curt,no problem. it's actually refreshing to have a debate with someone who actually is willing to stick to his points, has facts to back them up... and learn something new in the process. don't you just love how complicated legal technicalities get?
If his dumbass company would not have had their servers located in the US, it would not be an issue, but because the servers were physically located in the US, it is breaking the law *IN THE US* (download from Chicago, and the credit card transactions occur from a town in Washington, both IN THE US).
could you point me to a refrence for this? i hadn't read anything like that, but even in this instance... it would be adobe which should be filling charges against elcomsoft... amybe even giving them a warning... that would have been a better way to approach it rather than arresting programers who were not aware of any wrongdoing
as for the dcma itself i don't honestly think it will hamper the efforts of pirates in the least... what they are doing is already ilegal, does making another law really deter them?
my understanding about russian copyright law, is that the consumer needs to be able to make a backup copy of media that you sell in russia. now asuming i'm correct about this, that software in question made adobe's e-books legal to sell in russia (since they were uncopyable previously)
as for credit card fraud across international borders, i have no idea how the laws on that work so i don't know if you point is valid or not... (although i am hopingthere is some kind of mutual agreement on things like that
i'm not gonna argue it either way
my main counterpoint to you was that bin laden was not a just comparason for dimitri
hey now... we may be sperated by 2500 miles of ocean, but we should still be part of nation wide and all

if i were to compare my beer to my women i think my women have more messed up heads
apple should dump motorola and buy into ibm's power4 processors for their really high end workstations...

Guinness, the beer that eats like a meal!

but tom also did a p4 chipset test:
2 17 /index.html
http://www6.tomshardware.com/mainboard/01q4/011
it should give you numbers in around the same ratios if you just adjust for the cpu clock speed correct?

this is the same thing like intel not wanting to certify that even their celerons can go smp on those abit boards?
