So do you think children should be free to perform unsupervised and potentially dangerous experiments in school? I agree that the reaction was overblown, but she did deserve a slap on the wrist, not a congratulation.
Exactly, the main problem with OTP isn't that you have to store the key in memory, but that sending it to the other party is complicated. These guys have completely missed the point.
This is often brought up but I don't see what the problem is. Sure you can implement an algorithm in hardware, and sure, you can patent that. But that patent doesn't stop anybody from implementing the same thing in software. Yes, these patents are pointless, but not harmful.
And what does that have to do with negativity? Do you have to be optimistic to give to a charity or what? Criticism is the strongest force driving human progress.
This isn't a true quantum computer, it just uses the tunnel effect to minimize functions. So presumably you have to feed some functions to it and it gives back its minimum.
You're missing the point: mathematical models of programming don't deal with real-world interactions. As soon as a program does some IO, it can be argued that it is part of a machine. That's why patenting computer programs needs to be banned separately.
Climate change will cause one half of species to decline, but the other half will take their place, that's how nature works. Question is, which half will we belong to?
The USSR observed the landing site, but there's no proof that the landing modules contained humans.

Open source is about copyrights. This is a patent. What relevance does a patent bear on whether a piece of software is open source?
It only works for certain types of problems. You won't break RSA with it.
I have no idea how can they make that much with the business model of buying up sites already past their peak, but apparently it works.
You can disable sound in Opera.

These are just publicity stunts. Computing is cheap in terms of energy, the energy used by datacenters barely registers in the total energy usage.
Who would've thought that it's a bad idea?
Measuring entropy would be a good start.
And what does that have to do with negativity? Do you have to be optimistic to give to a charity or what? Criticism is the strongest force driving human progress.
This is a democratic method, not a scientific one.
I'm curious how Bill managed to get back on top after distributing half of his wealth among the poor.
We've had machines that mix softdrinks for decades, if there was demand for an automated bartender they would exist by now.
It's nice when you have a good enough position to be able to do that, but don't try it when applying for your first job.
And don't believe people who tell you that you're anonymous.
And MS can fake those.

How is Google going to determine whether a request to Youtube is sent from this app?

Another technology always 20 years from now.
If the photo is real, why did the photographer go through all the trouble with filters and all kinds of photo magic just to make it look like fake?
You assume they want to go to court.
