I think it is way past time for us (as in every country on Earth) to pass laws that ban any further manufacture of vehicles that lack a mechanical key switch and mandate that any existing vehicles be modified by the manufacturer to comply with that law within six months, or else those vehicles are no longer allowed to be driven on public roads.
And who, pray tell, would be paying for these modifications?
It is one thing to put forth a requirement on future vehicles but it is another thing to expect that all existing vehicles be modified.
Basically, no matter what we do, we will always be on a negative slope in terms of water conservation.
Also, lord knows that people will not want to drink recycled water.

Almost all water is recycled. I am actually curious what percentage of the water the average person drinks came from bodily fluids of another human being of the past or present.
It is renewable just not at the rate that it is being used. In any case, I think it is likely we will find ways to cheaply desalinate ocean water before the threat of massive death by dehydration is imminent. After all, necessity is the mother of invention. Also, grey water systems would probably become more culturally acceptable as water prices increased. Here is one interesting reverse osmosis technology that is being researched using graphene.
How many people will be playing? My youngest brother runs a online Minecraft (Bukkit) server. Early on, we determined that we didn't have the upload bandwidth needed to run one for more than a few people simultaneously. About a month and a half ago, he started hosting again after a break. He now has about 25 people on at a time most of the day and has pulled in enough "donations" to cover all his costs so far with a few hundred dollars leftover. The extra money comes to less than minimum wage seeing that he spends almost all his free time managing/playing it. I think he is hoping that once he can get 100+ people playing that he can start making some real money.
All in all, if your son is resourceful and willing to put the time and energy into figuring out how to properly manage a server and attract new players, he can get some hosting and a Buycraft account and make at least enough money for the server to pay for itself.
As far as who to host with, I think my brother uses BeastNode although he said he was considering trying another company of which I can't remember the name. If I find out, I will reply to this comment and add it.
In a sense, "shelf space" is still scarce. If a book does not have a lot of exposure to potential buyers, the likelihood of the book being bought decreases. First/Front page space is scarce. While keeping a title on sale indefinitely is now much cheaper, I would venture a guess that most of the sales are still within the first year.
Most places do not give you the right to sells your ebooks. Many times, you are not even supposed to loan them out. Aside from publishing and distributing cost, this is a reason that a ebooks are much sell valuable than print books and should be sold accordingly.
O'Reilly sells their books DRM free in multiple formats. You can re download your books whenever you want and they will even sync your books to your Dropbox account if you so desire. Of course, they sell technical books not story books.
All lot of small companies that do not have the resources to get into a long legal battle will pay out. Even if they fought and managed to win, the legal battle would likely either bankrupt them or put them so far behind their competition that they might has well be bankrupt. The patent office has been irresponsible by letting bad patents through and expecting the judicial system to validate/invalidate them in court.
Aside from the Metro UI, Windows 8 isn't all that different than Windows 7. In fact, I think it is a little more efficient on the back end. The problem with Windows 8 is the Metro UI. For non-touch devices, it is horrible. I installed Start8 for $5.00 in order to avoid Metro but still use Windows 8. Now, Start8 boots me directly to the desktop and I have a Windows 7 style menu. I get the back end improvements in Windows 8 with the UI of Windows 7.
I concur with this. Udacity is an awesome learning tool. I took the AI course and it was quite education and fun. Since he is going to college to get a degree anyway, he doesn't need to worry about getting a widely renown and accepted degree during his pre-studies. Udacity hasn't been around very long and so far they do not have any proctored exams.
From my understanding, this new feature still pays attention to your privacy settings. If you don't have your privacy settings set right, that is your fault. If you don't think Facebook gives you enough control in its privacy settings, don't use Facebook. If you have a public Facebook profile with sensitive private information on it, you are an idiot and big companies have been aggravating your data for a while now.
Which party is the "Who's going to pay for all of this?" party? From what I have seen. both major parties want to keep on spending us in a hole. The only difference is at what rate, who benefits in the mean time, and whose money do we take first.
... and a thin elite of top musicians who hoped they could retire at the age of 30.
I would best most of them could anyway except they would not be able to afford their second yacht.
Usenet is much older than Reddit.
It is a lot harder to drag a hostage to a door without being obvious than it is pull a dead hand/finger out of your coat when no one is looking.
I am curious why did you pick 55 lbs?
How are Bitcoins illegal?

The average person does not know how to do that safely.
At those speeds? Doubt it.
I guess that would depend on whether the watch actually took samples of your blood or just acted as a display for an implant transmitting the info.
Extracting energy requires clean water.
Everything and everybody needs clean fresh water.

TFS said retrospectively (while meaning retroactively).

... while Stardock's Start8 was the best of the best but is like $20 or $30 or something like that. ...
It is $4.99. Where are you getting your information?

I take the last part back. They apparently have started offering optional proctored exams for some of their online classes.

Did they announce the phone or simply that they are going to produce a phone with Ubuntu on it.

I really like this idea. All commits would be digitally signed and anyone can clone the repository.
