I have been using and recommending PlayOn for several years. The open nature of their plugin system allows you to roll your own for any site out there. I did a quick search of one of the most active plugin/scripting sites for PlayOn and found this. With it's active scripting scene you can find just about anything you are looking for. And if you don't you can usually find someone willing to tackle it for you just for fun. Add to that the fact you can live stream from it to any DLNA compatible device as well as any iDevice/Android/BB over the internet.
Are you questioning whether you need a tablet or whether to get THIS tablet? Nobody "needs" a tablet but I find I carry my PlayBook around the office a lot and it is a great tool (I have an Android tablet but haven't used it nearly as much). In my case it is made ever more capable because I still rock a BB phone. The two devices combine via the BlackBerry Bridge software on the phone. Once connected your data on your phone can be accessed on the PB including your wireless data whether or not you have a tethering plan (AT&T modifies the Bridge software to prevent this but you can get the unmodified version easily). The hardware can't be beat for this price (3/5 MP cameras/ gyroscope / and a fricken magnometer!). It has the most feature complete browser of any tablet with HTML 5 and Flash 11.2 support so most sites look the same as they would from your PC. And since the PB can run Android apps (and possibly iOS apps in the near future) there are plenty of apps to choose from.
I've never owned a BB but this huge negative PR event caused me to never care about this company, ever again.
So you already didn't care about any of the other mobile phone manufacturers because their devices were already being snooped on because their devices didn't have encryption in the first place? It wasn't like RIM didn't fight against it. It's their security that has been their bread and butter since the beginning. If data is going through a BIS/BES not even RIM has the keys to decrypt the traffic.
You can send all those unused PlayBooks my way. They are an awesome tablet and anyone who has spent more than a cursory amount of time with one would be hard pressed to disagree. The biggest complaint I hear about them is there are no apps. (it's not true but it's what gets complained about the most) Since the PlayBook can run Flash/AIR/Android/HTML5/JavaScript and soon JAVA and iOS applications that argument rings kinda hollow.
The first time I played Mass Effect through I actually found myself emotionally bonding with the npc's. It genuinely made certain critical game decisions harder. When I had to choose who to save on Vimire I chose Ashley because I really didn't feel like I had any connection to Kaiden. I'm not sure how that would change if the npc's were more lifelike. Per the ME example the npc's use live voice actors some so in that respect they are very lifelike but if the actual graphics became more realistic would it bother me? Good question.
You just described the job requirement for a trade floor tech. I've been working in the trade support role for ~10 years and that's exactly what we do. On a trade floor where seconds count management doesn't care if you skirt company policy to get a problem solved in the shortest amount of time. IT can address the issue formally post trade close. Corporate IT doesn't always get the urgency with these environments and explaining to them why you need the firewall turned off because it just went postal and started blocking the main trading hub isn't likely to get you anywhere.
I was all ready to post a snarky comment about not needing Visual Studio because I could do everything I needed in Delphi. So I quickly look it up since I haven't touched it in over 10 years and much to my surprise Delphi is not only still around but looks like it's thriving. Who knew?
One of the girls in our class had also been in my shop class. A cute Latino with beautiful long black hair. She went out of her way to disobey the rules in shop (and everywhere else) and one day I was standing behind her waiting for my turn at the buffing wheel. One moment she is standing there buffing her project and the next her head is slapping against the buffing wheel as her hair pulls her in and releases her and pulls her in again. I remember laughing my @ss off and being horrified at the same time. She was ultimately fine but imagine if she would have gotten a hold of the sodium or flaming magnesium.
Ah yes...Where does one get a brick of pure sodium these days?
9th grade science instructor ( also one of the football coaches ) kept us interested by tossing small ( VERY SMALL ) chunks of sodium into a 5 gallon bucket of water. Other times we would all cower behind a blast shield and ignite a strip of magnesium. And let's not forget how he would roll a metal trash can down the isle of the guy sleeping in class.
The problem scenario that happens on Google is that you actually find what you're looking for.
You must have a different internet than me.
They may find answers but there is no guarantee the answers are correct.
It's kinda like asking/. the best way to pick up chicks.
It also would not surprise me at all to discover law enforcement had set up honey pots of illicit information for the express purpose of logging IP addresses of anyone perusing said pot.
They just have Google elevate their page-rank score for certain keywords and sit and wait.
I love that. The entity is basically telling thieves what target vectors to use when configuring their attack bots.
i.e. Only attempt passwords with 6 to 8 characters and filter out any where # of capitol letters is < 1 or > 1 and # of numbers !=2. I'm sure it's still a large sample but infinitesimally smaller than just requiring a password to be more than 6 characters.
I guess it's a good thing API's can't be copyrighted or this would have been DOA. Perhaps Adobe could get behind this as well. What could be better than still being able to sell your developer tools for Flash and not have to create clients for all the different platforms anymore.
Not sure about the last one but RIM's BlackBerry Mobile Fusion should handle the first 3 for both iOS and Android. Combine that with their BlackBerry Balance and you have a pretty robust way to control most mobile devices while letting users keep their personal stuff separate but on the same device.
Funny...This comic seems to be getting a lot of use lately.
Just replace standards with languages.
Did you look at the third link in my comment? It is specifically the CNN Live script. I haven't tried it but it's there.

The summary didn't tell me who to root for so I am completely confused.
But the money you make selling your story for the made-for-TV movie will more than cover those costs.

The day Google decides to sell those changes to a third party I'll send you the link they put up for the source.
Well they have to do that so you'll use their VOD service rather than Netflix.
If they contribute back to the main trunk, then I think all is well.
The double edged sword of the BSD License. I'm sure they will probably contribute back but unlike the GPL there is nothing legally to compel them to.
Cool story bro...

It's good to see all these apps on either iOS or Android. It just means more apps for for my BlackBerry PlayBook!

This is the first thing I thought of. Isn't this how nature prunes and purges and refreshes itself?

You got it.

Oh..and the being cooler part too

BB 10 has Activesync as does OS 2 on the Playbook. Just don't expect it to be as secure as their current system.
