Alias is only releasing the Windows and Macintosh ports of Maya for free. Neither the IRIX, nor the Linux ports are being released under the Personal Learning Edition.
Untrue, I have a single primary line, DSL, no local toll charges, and no long-distance carrier. The only services I do have are caller-id, and uh... something else that I didn't put on but my girlfriend did.
The point being, that you're just not doing things correctly if you're required to have the extra services... get someone who starts crying when someone tries to pressure them to buy something, and I guarantee you'll stop getting people trying to pressure you to get things.
And god-help-them if they have to talk to me. No, I don't want long-distance, yes I'm sure; No, you may not call me to try to sell me long-distance.
Be firm, they can't -force- you to get long-distance, schmuck.
I never claimed it was the responsibility of the police to protect me, I stated it is the responsibility of the police to find those guilty of a crime. Large difference.
That's absurd, that means that Canadians are a race, Americans are a race which leads to an interesting notion of hyphenated races, where you have Asian-Americans, which are a race-race, and that's absolutely stupid.
The defininition of race requires that they be from the same stock, and sorry, that means that national populations don't qualify, because they're not all related.
I'd had other APM problems, but ACPI works -so- much better, so I use that. I don't think the suspend button works though, because I haven't used it yet.
That's because that "smb://" stuff is KDE's way of handling samba shares, if you put your samba share in/etc/fstab, it'll mount at boot and you'll be able to play your mp3's over the share.
The reason you have to have a "license" to operate a television or radio station, is because the radio spectrum is finite. Licensing for radio and television is zero-sum, if I get the last license for radio-spectrum within our (hypothetical) area, you can't get one because there is no longer any available frequencies. Internet usage is not zero-sum, if I connect, I'm not preventing you from connecting, nor is your connection precluding anyone elses.
Since Internet connectivity isn't zero-sum, there's no reason for a license to use it based on analogies to radio and television licensing.
I switched to Hanlon's razor from my mach-3 (mostly to save on blades), and I must say, I'm impressed how smoothly it shaves. No nicks or scratches either!
Don't let him know though, I don't think he'd appreciate my using it.
Cactuses is the correct term when used in English. But, since it's also (New) Latin, it is -also- correct to use cacti. And it isn't cactii, it's with a single 'i', plural of Latin words is to add a single 'i', people who use virii are confused by the word radii.
From Merriam-Webster:
Main Entry: cactus Pronunciation: 'kak-t&s Function: noun Inflected Form(s): plural cacti/-"tI, -(")tE/; or cactuses also cactus Etymology: New Latin, genus name, from Latin, cardoon, from Greek kaktos Date: 1767 : any of a family (Cactaceae, the cactus family) of plants that have succulent stems and branches with scales or spines instead of leaves and are found especially in dry areas (as deserts)
Viruses... virii is the misspelled Latin plural for -Man- or Vir. In Latin the word virus had no plural, since we pluralise it in English, we use English rules for pluralising it making the plural of the word virus "viruses".
Well, I'm pretty sure you can get a bunch of them together and eat a nice microbe soup, and that'd still be a red wine meal. Of course, then they'd start eating your red blood cells and you'd have to start eating raw and bloody meat... or automobiles.:)
According to here funny moderations no longer help your Karma, I just thought you might want to know that.
That said, I'd have to say red, since it goes with most iron-rich meats... mmmmmmm microbe-steak.
You do realise that the Philistines were a culturally and technologically advanced civilization? There's no evidence that they had poor spelling skills, nor any evidence that they had poor grammar. Further, the word "anything" is English, not Minoan, so while they wouldn't know how to spell "anything", I'm pretty certain you can't spell the Minoan/Philistine equivalent.
I didn't say it was a police state either, I said that our law enforcement has been given wildly expanded leeway with stuff they shouldn't have... if this was a police state, I'd make sure that I'm wearing jackboots, comrade.

All those make it immediately apparent that Microsoft has some extremely violent and deranged individuals in its employ. ;)

He could do the same if the LAPD found the real killers... again, I see no reason for him to be responsible for finding them.
OJ is a private citizen, why should he be out finding the "real killers" (if any exist), isn't that a job for the LAPD?
Google's froogle feature is pretty cool, I found board-mountable bluetooth modules in less than 10 seconds (I had to resort by price).
Here's a Site that sells the modules.
I bet you won't, I hear Switzerland has the most stringent Immigration laws, so it's a pain in the ass to move there. Sucks, neh?
But, black-Frenchman aren't Gauls, nor Saxons. So, again, the assertion that French or English is a race is absurd.

French isn't a race, though. It's a country. So, French jokes aren't "racial"[sic].

True, but then it doesn't have the taste of bitter cynicism, and humor is like coffee, always best black.
