    And I scored 6.79. But a few things that it docked points for seem out of line. Running postfix will dock points (I'd assume that running any MTA) will dock points, from the wording of the report.

    I realize that MTA's can be exploited, but it seems that the only way to get a 10.00 is to have a system that has no network connection to the outside world.

    Mandrake just jumped to gcc-3.2 in their devel. branch. Beta 2 of Mandrake 9.0, all subsequent betas, and 9.0 final will use gcc-3.2.

    Mandrake Cooker (sort of the equivalent of Debian Woody or Sid) has used gcc-3.1 as its sytem compiler since May 6.

    Mandrake 9.0 will, according to various insider posts on the Mandrake Cooker mailing list (Warly, IIRC), be out around September 15, give or take a week.

    Bzzt! Wrong. You know how much a CD wholesales for? c. $10. The largest portion of the profit is to the retailer (at least the retailer that can get $18/CD).

    I've been using Opera, with it's tabbed UI since version 2.0, which was, IIRC, c. 1998. So there.

    Uh, they made a version of Opera 5 for the PPC. I expect that a PPC build of Opera 6 will be released shortly.

    You're misinformed wrt radio.

    Yes, many labels opposed radio in the early days. Capitol Records, though, when they started in the early 40's, began the process of encouraging disc jockeys to play their songs on the radio. Within ten years, Capitol was the dominant label, mainly because they had built up relations with all the radio DJ's and had a much easier time geting their artists on the air, which resulted in higher sales (which they parlayed into being able to sign the bigger artists, such as Sinatra in the 50's).

    Slap a type-R sticker on your drive. I did it, and I swear I got an extra MB/sec out of my ATA/100.

    I'm thinking of putting a spoiler on it. I figure that's good for at least 850KB/sec. Any recommendations?
