this sounds like very fun idea i wonder how many people sending.zip bombs it would take to clear their buffer in their data center and delete all other data?
yes because the nsa would never lie before Congress oh wait they have already been caught lying before Congress twice. I trust encryption far more than I trust the nsa.
Or perhaps I should start start teaching programming to those who already know how. We can spend all day reading slashdot and watch funny cat-videos on youtube
sounds like what i spent doing during windows workstation administration 1 & 2
Except the warm surface air you pumped down underground will cool, PV==nRT resulting in less volume and less pressure, so while the air may be under great pressure when you send it down however it will loose pressure and there for potential energy over time.
yes but we are talking about having to gpu accelerate a f'ing spreadsheet here, one a sheet gets to this point you are far and beyond the point where it is reasonable to switch to a more powerful tool. spreadsheets like this are huge amounts of spaghetti code mixed with badly written vb8 macros this is a nightmare for everyone involved. while this does not call for a full fledged compiled app, usually, switching over to using something like MS access or libra/open office base even if it means a few afternoons watching youtube walkthroughs would be a much better plan.
as for others saying that spreadsheets are compatible between versions. no because the macros used in these abominations are not always compatible.
Also, didn't Ubuntu add an option to opt-out of the advertising after the backlash?
yup they did, also they anonymised the searches as i recall from the forbes article a ms exec is quoted as saying;
The goal, is to give advertisers access to consumers across a broader variety of their daily activities, not just when they’re overtly conducting a search.
so they are not only seeing you search but from a detailed analysis of you computer daily usage. they are literally baking adware and spyware into their core OS.
The stockholders tried to fire him but he and Bill Gates own most of the stock, he and Bill are best of friends and Bill still dominates the board so the board can't and/or won't kick him out either.
not for Nokia but that tactic has worked well for Microsoft. Is there something at Zynga Microsoft really needs so much that they orchestrate a planting to get it?
stupid browser games that will soon be metro apps?
i have seen that a lot as well it reminded me the book homeland (by corry doctrow sequal to little brother). In it the gov used automated system to dismis/cast doubt on a large data leak to of classified document relating to human rights violations, spying and other unethical/illegal actions.talk about life imitating art.
What you describe is called "key continuity management".
First time you get a public key from an email that you trust
How should one decide to trust a particular e-mail? The sender can spoof the From address.
SSH currently will do a key exchange using the first-time approach without a certification authority
Your SSH connection could be MITM'd from day one and you might not notice it.
you could communicate a key id over another channel, (in person, via phone, mail, etc) with the id yo can grab the public key from a key server, like pgp uses.
i have been thinking of setting up a tor node but my internet is to slow as is at home. i wonder could you set one up on the fee tier of amazon web services or would it to quickly burn through its bandwidth?
i like it can we get the mpaa and riaa to attack the nsa maybe the would destroy each other and leave the rest of us in peace.

I agree. People who use ad-supported media (like slashdot, for the most part) with ad-blockers turned on are just moochers and hypocrites.
really? then why does slashdot give you a disable ads checkbox if you have an account?

entropy is a bitch.
DNA has a link to the past for many millions of years, is very robust and there is many many copies on site and off site.
mutation.
most likely civilization destroying disaster is nuclear/biological war.
nukes cause radiation and cause mutation.
virus mutate the genome as well,
mutation == bitrot

i thought excel for super computers was a joke...

i can pay 99c for a ad free version of most of those android apps, lets see ms charge 99c for windows
and there was a huge backlash against it and even more users migrated to mint and/or debian
and how much energy does a industrial pump run on? and are they self repairing?

Now this furore is a little silly.
Hey! Word to the wise: about:config I doubt the feature is actually removed...
I assume that this is a UI change and that Mozilla is removing a button, that caused a greater cost to support, than justify with benefit.
Really, the advanced web user, who is judicious about enabling script, can opt for a plugin, if they want a button.
thankyou this is exactly what I came here to say.
no we want to get ridnof secure boot. uefi lets you boot to a harddrive over 3 Tb in size. I wish coreboot was more developed.
am I the only one that thinks this is useless complication that will make dns more of a pain to work with simply so icann can grab money.
its no longer ask jeeves it just ask now and isn't that good compared to google in my humble opinion.

Why would you get a Linux ISO on tpb?
Unless you plan to verify md5 on every single package, I'd go to the vendor's site.
You just don't know what you're getting from tpb. It could be a rootkit with a side of worm.
Why would you need to md5 each package on the iso? Could you not simply md5 the iso image itself?
Nah, we'll just have to start speaking Klingon
i prefer drow to klingon or should i say; usstan hull'phir ilythiiri ulu klingon
