Or they could get Hawking one of these. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotiv_Systems A brain computer interface that is available to consumers already. With it they could give him a means of communication even if he loose what little control of his body he has left
No fire releases energy stored in the molecular bonds all the matter is still there after. Fire is a rapid decomposition releasing the stored energy as heat and light. Nuclear is far far more efficient. http://xkcd.com/1162/
I have a document in my backpack; my personal ToS. It states that everyone who shakes my hand must give me $20. By shaking, they agree.
Fails. Firstly other party is unaware of the terms prior to the hand shake and as you will remember from 1st year law school, past consideration is no consideration. Even if they were it still fails for lack of consideration: the other party suffers a detriment both in paying $20 and in shaking your hand, so the consideration only flows in the same direction... twice.:p
I believe that is how most TOS and EULA's seem to work anyway.
The point of the militia as referred to in the second amendment is to keep a check on a tyrannical government, as such relying on a Federal military or department to do so for the citizens would be useless as they are they very people it is supposed to keep in check and is contrary to the laws intent.
"to allow law-abiding and sane citizens to obtain guns more easily than criminals or insane people"
Last time I checked, criminals didn't have to do background checks or go through a waiting period before getting their guns....
The Gun Control Act of 1968 bans convicted felons from owning firearms. Not that it stops them they will just obtain them illegally. Banning gun sales just stops those that fallow the law from owning them. If all guns were banned today and most legally obtained gun were to be turned in criminals would still get them via black market. Don't believe me open up tor and look around silk road you can get anything you want sex drugs guns explosives or hire hitmen what ever. gun law just disarm the law abiding.
do they expect murderers to obey the law that says they can't posses illegal clips or weapons when they already break other laws by murdering there fellow man?
while i agree there needs to be better treatment for those with mental health issues and that the medical support and insurance system needs fixing (more of a total overhaul really) this isn't a law meant to cause a stigma rather one that is meant a safety measure to protect society from these atrocities and the mentally ill individual from tragic suicidal action
if you are mentally ill to the point that you should have your firearms removed it is better to have law to take them away than not out of fear they might be afraid to get help, as people at that level are usually already paranoid of mental health professionals. This isn't for just anybody that goes to see a therapist but more the need to be locked up group.
mod parent up. yours is one of the best explanations of this debate since the Newtown shooting where everyone seemed to go nuts and make up gun info as they went along.
How is he being scammed or conned when he got what he wants, he wanted somewhere to throw his files and they let him. You seem to be under the impression that Dotcom is some evil person when all he does is chase money. He may have screwed up in his past (he used to act as a malicious hacker) but he was punished and paid his debt to society and is now just running a file locker service what is put there by others is not his responsibility.

Or when sun/oracle decided to open source solaris they should of licensed it under an existing license rather than make up there own.
more likely they will go with uefi (bios is to limited) with custom firmware that contains boot codes for multiple architectures and all you have to do is swap the flag on start up unless it detects it automatically, this could also be used as a secondary cpu having a primary cpu on the board still for the OS and the other for number crunching and virtualization.
It will show up not not in the consumer space, at least for a very longtime. I will before enterprise systems and will more than likely be meant for hot swapping more than arch shifting
Look, seriously. If scientists ran the world and occupied political positions of power, if we got rid of marketing departments and corporate communications, then what jobs would be left for stupid people?
fry cook? scientist need to eat, construction worker? some one has to build the building around the partial collider, janator, bogon^^^^^ office workers, and most important of all farm hand on coffee plantations. that is of course until they are all replaced by robots or in the case of office workers macros and scripts.
Correction it is not theft as the original owner still has his copy it is copyright infringement, other wise you are steeling every time you use a photocopier
Read everything you can about The Fair Tax. If we passed the Fair Tax, we would supercharge our economy, full employment would be achieved probably within 2 years, and we would be the #1 economic engine on the planet. Prosperity would be restored, and we could accept immigrants to any extent we wanted, because we would be able to put all of them to work in a revitalized manufacturing industry. They try to say that there's no silver bullet, but there is, and it is the Fair Tax.

why not just give all the students a virtualbox installer (it supports mac linux windows and solaris (maybe freebsd i don't remember off hand)) with a pre-built customized ubuntu virtual machine now they all have identical environment complete with browser, office suit, and what ever other software is required now mixed device environment is solved. Hell the school could do some custom branding of the VM if they wanted. Start requiring all docs be in what ever the defaults for libra/open office or pdf now all of the students and professors can open anything they are given.
They are not a search monopoly because there are dozens of other search providers (bing, ask, yahoo, duckduckgo, yandex. aol) and you can switch to any of them at a moments notice, its just that the rest a rubbish.
Would probably run on debian and mint to
VMWare dosen't have live migration? I know Virtualbox does though i have never had opportunity to need it yet.

Odd, as I have regularly run into it when cleaning up peoples computers.
