    i found them a easy read (deceptively easy) and so did my friends i recommended the books...for non mathematical guys. Another book which i remember was by one Bell. (E.T.Bell ? anybody know?) gave a good overall introduction to modern physics. for laymen too.

    someone please calculate the probability of one of "your" molecules i.e. which were part of an individual human being , have gone to distance X from the earth? any element not a specific one. ..on a related note whats the probability you are breathing the exact molecule some Y may have also done so Z years ago.(like jesus, or confucius, or some mega celebrity).

    and thats when it gets interesting. you just scribble the outlines of a plot, select the characteristics of a few characters, backgrounds in a general way, genre, music, and combinations of all these and press enter. Maybe you could even point the computer to a few stories you like and tell it, 'something like that'.
    now will this resulting masterpiece be uder riaa?

    slightly OT, they are not "floppy" theyre quite rigid. i think the older ones were floppies. these are rigidies. hmm.

    though bit clunky. how else would desktops be revived, virus cleaned rebooted, smallsized program patches shared. Theyre invaluable. maybe usb memory stick removable 'disk' might become the floppy killer if prices go down.

    I recall reading some time ago about a japanese scientist hunting for intact deep frozen mammoths in siberia. Not sure I think plan was to use elephant eggs, inject mammoth DNA...and wait. mammoths were lving until roughly 8000 years ago. cve paintings show mammoth hunts. anyone know whats the progress?

    never mind the wartime uses . environmentalists WOULD be interested in organisms ( evenb genetically modified-prodded) which eat up crude oil spills, or plastic domestic waste. ever been to a landfill?
    right, plastics become extremely degradable if the method works. bad news for those with plastic implants in their hips or other places. good for the oil/ plastics industry.

    maybe this is part of the coming revolution in biotechnology, which is the next leet thing. suddenly computers seem old-style, heh.

    so that when the evil pirates or foreign govts or firms (UK, Germany, France, China) use the software, uncle sam and his nephews get a door whenever they want....
    this seems a more likely explanation, keeping in mind MS has good programmers. Of course, someone else may discover the holes and how to use them.
