  1. Re:How will Apple stay in bussiness? on Apple Gives $100 Store Credit To iPhone Customers · · Score: 1

It's called interest, just like banks make interest off your money when you place it in their hands. The difference being that banks give you a cut of their profits, Apple just takes more of your money in exchange for the next tech toy.

    Mod Parent Up!

This is really just another self-serving grab by Apple. To be honest I'm surprised at how many comments are blindly thanking them for this.

  3. Disdain on $499 PlayStation 3 Confirmed · · Score: 1, Insightful

Sony's continual disdain toward customers over the past few years was the guaranteed nail in the coffin for me. My hard earned cash will go to entertainment elsewhere.

A new motorcycle is looking much more tempting, entertaining, and far more invigorating than a PS/3 could ever be.

Sorry Sony it was just too little too late, better luck next time.

  4. Re:Albums are great on Singles, Not Albums, Define Music Industry Success · · Score: 1

I really don't understand those that celebrate the demise of albums. Those that do are damn fools who take not the time to appreciate what they have. Listening to a full album by a quality artist is not unlike taking a proverbial break to stop and smell the roses.
  5. Re:I like albums on Singles, Not Albums, Define Music Industry Success · · Score: 1

I agree whole heartedly with the parent post. Death of the album would be a sad day for music creativity. High quality artists put out catch singles to draw you into the album where the not so catchy but higher quality gems reside.

If the artists you listen to only put out one or two good songs per album, then you're not listening to quality artists in the first place. This is a simple cause and effect and it's your own damn fault they continue to do so because of your support for their low quality music.

I don't know about you, but I can't think of too many things worse than having my legacy associated with a meal of the vegetarian variety. Real vegetarians won't eat a caesar salad because of the eggs and sometimes chicken topings. Of course to have a legacy you would have to have offspring, and this is slashdot where leaving your mothers basement is not only strictly prohibited, it's highly discouraged.

Sorry, it's Linux that's playing the license games, not Sun. One only needs to look at ZFS support in FreeBSD to see that (Speaking of, where's the 'ZFS On FreeBSD!' story?). Thank you, couldn't have said it better myself. In fact while reading the article I couldn't help but keep thinking if they were using FreeBSD instead of Linux they could already be playing with ZFS.
