Since when do cab companies set their own rates? pretty sure (at least here in the States) there is a government commission which set's taxi rates, which is why taxi rates are the same between the different companies. Which is one of those pesky laws Uber violates.
Competition? in the ISP market. At best you have 2 choices for a >10mbs connection, more likely your limited to 1 provider.
At no point is there any real competition in the broadband market.

Net Neutrality did not come out of a vacuum, it was a response to some heavy handed action from the major ISP's.
