No, in-fighting happened all the time, murders and bullying were rampant. Think of what we see now on a smaller scale. It works, it's just not efficient and it wastes valuable resources.
Honestly, If I release it to the public domain why should I care if some uses it for their own purpose. It's there for anyone to use for any purpose. My question to everyone is this, if you are really serious about "free as in speech", then you must defend every use however abhorrent and trust the ethics of the person using you creation.

Latitude is one of the most privacy invasive apps that exists. You know something that keeps tabs of your location constantly. Apple is just making sure you actually want people to know where you are.
I call bullshit that copyright is required for FOSS to exist, it is required for GPL but not open-source. All GPL is open-source but not all open-source is GPL. The most free definition of open-source would be public domain. Unfortunately in the good ole US of A it is nearly impossible to get anything in the public domain anymore.

WTF but why would you bother with bittorrent for mp3's. It makes more sense that the movie industry would want a cut, or even the software industry. I mean really what's the use of using torrents for 5 meg files.
Anytime you receive something of value you usually are required to pay taxes on it regardless of how you acquired it, and no, you do not get to assign the value.
I have one which is why I haven't finished the final season yet. And to those claiming bittorrent, why do have to break the law, instead why don't you show some fucking common courtesy.
