Easy answer, Never
In 1976 Cray's were water cooled, and later they were cooled with freon.
So no your little desktop has nothing on super computers when it comes to cooling requirements.
Hmmm, When was this, When I worked for them (I upgraded ATMS back in 97 or 98) ethy were all running OS/2, Big old Diebold boxes, we were giving them nice color screens and such (like the ability to sell stamps). Well at least till the morons who worked for me cut the wrong cable and Poof No ATMS in 3 states.
The NSA can tap as many phones as it wants, by it's charter it is above certain laws. On the plus side, none of thier taps can be used against you in court.
Though if yer really bad, you may just disappear.

Actually no it didn't. It was meant to have a 5 year run (and yes I know it did) but prior to the 4th seasons end the show was to be cancelled so J.Michael had to rewrite to end the series at the end of the 4th season. When he was told that it would have a 5th he had to hack together the tacked on 5th season.
Rebuffer with what. TV is not TCP/IP type Connection, it's more like a UDP type connection, your not gonna get the information you missed when you lost the signal, so that time you lost is going to be saved in the tivo as a black screen.
Actually San Onofre is located rather close to the Cristianitos Fault, about 2 or 3 miles I believe. Now given that it hasn't had any siesmic activity in something like 150,000 years, It is a well known fault and is visible from San Onofre beach.
San Onofre is not built on any fault and is designed to withstand any sort of major earthquake. I'd say it's done a pretty good job so far.
First part of your statement is wrong, it is and, now what part of the comment about Bechtel did you not read. What about their error in installing one of the reactors.
Well you would probably be the only one. Thats great for a power plant that is operating at reduced capacity due to 125 million dollars in safety upgrades that no one wants to do.
Everytime I see comments like these I wonder what people are thinking, or if they are thinking at all. Do you really think Microsoft would keep it's XBox division open if it were not profitable. Please they are a business, and an extremely successful one at that. They may have initially sold the hardware at a loss. But I am positive they more then made up for that in game sales and licensing fees.
Next time someone wants to post how Microsoft loses money on the XBox, show sources or get modded down.
No "problem" you can point out today is meaningful, unless you can argue from base scientific theory that it'll never be solvable.
Ummm, Ok how about this then, They are frozen after they are dead, hence they are dead. Fine they can repair all the cells and that were ruptured as the water crystalized, they can thaw the body with out damaging it, it doesn't matter because these people all DIED prior to being frozen. I know that someone is going to say something about resuscitation, wrong word the one you're looking for is resurrection.
OK It's nice, it's pretty, and it's easy to use but why cripple the mutimedia aspect of it. I mean not a single video player comes installed with it. When you try and grab one from their repository, you find something interesting. Due to licensing issues you get no xine, no mplayer and no xmms mp3 support. Not only that but they warn you not to use any other repositories, I did to get mplayer but now I get stuck in some dependancy loop when I try to update.
ARGHHH. SO great it's nice and it works well, but with no video players yet. (Well Ogle does so at least I have my DVD's)
Why go those routes. Why not Hydro Electric or Geo-thermic or wind and wave. Hell why not all of them. Sure it limits where you can build your power plants but I find that that's always better then sticking nuclear power plants on a major fault line (like San Onofre, oh and a big congratulations to Bechtel for installing one of the reactors backwards thus negating the usefulness of the seismic braces.)
How does a faster transistor have anything to do with Moore's law. Moore's Law is all about doubling the number of transistors every 18 months. It has nothing to do with how fast those transistors are.
Yes it is, sorry but Netscape did not have a chance. But the Browser Revoluton is just starting. Mozilla and opera are starting to launch small battles against the big IE. first their was the tabbed browsing offensive, it completely caught MS off guard and they did not even try to put up a fight. Then came the battle of standards compliance. While this one was not a huge fight, I am betting that history will show it was a crucial one.

Ack should have said parent post. What a wonderful thing to do to the developers when they offer a free demo.
If possible please delete the above post.

Well damn, since I'm nobody I guess I won't pay any taxes. I mean how can the governmen tax nobody.
Where did he register his claim. Whats to stop someone coming up and saying they claimed it prior to him.
Yeah like me I claimed it on March 13th, 1990, But I named it Mike.

Sorry but I gotta reply to this, Fine so it does not kill healthy adults. I'll agree with that, but have you ever seen a healthy heroin addict?
A substance thats harder then diamond and even more useless.
So now my pencils will break even faster. (harder usually equals more brittle not less).
Ahh I remember my youth, when I took a diamond earring and put it under my desk leg at school, sat down and presto, diamond dust.
Weird things you think of when the fever gets going.
Someone out there who is not as sick as me want to take a look at that and tell me how many IP's Apple Computer has, and why they need so many.
Get yourself a Dell Poweredge 2650 rack mount server. Damn those things sound like a damn wind tunnel.

Yeah jetski's are cool till you get hit by one. I hope you drown.
Nothing wrong with the eastcoast and surfing, especially now. For surfing the season is just starting.
Can't wait my self just got a new 6'8" hammer on proform.
