Mexicans lives in or come from Mexico. Being a Mexican does not mean that person is an immigrant. Most Americans come from who knows where so we call these people (x-th generation) immigrants. This fact is underlined by their blood line: 1/4 Italian, 1/3 Russian and so on.
For one because you would expect something that can be customised and configured, but instead droid devices uses an all-or-nothing security model and come with tons of pre-installed uninstallable sh..tuff. And g+
So what happens is that seed production is in the hands of one big corporation. Monsanto. It's suing farmers for accidental cross pollination or in other words they pollute the crops of farmers with their product and then they sure them. Farmers, thinking their production will go up, don't realize their expenses go up three times, making their profit less. What already has happened, is that a lot of farmers use the same seeds and, oh, surprise, there was a disease that targeted their expensive crops... Aaaannnd it was all gone. The harvest of a very big region ruined. In India this has already led to whole (cotton) farmer communities to go bankrupt. Great job GMO.
Root cause: we are with too many people on this earth. GMO will not solve that problem.
You mean a bit like america that invades a country here and a country there and justify that by thinking it's morally superior? That obnoxious behavior is particularly strong and obvious for many years now - which is worrying.
Bitcoin's utter lack of regulation permits really hideous markets to emerge, in commodities like assassination and drugs and child pornography; and finally Bitcoin is inherently damaging to the fabric of civil society because it is pretty much designed for tax evasion.
[sarcasm]All perfect examples markets and activities that weren't there before the Bitcoin...[/sarcasm]
The live stock industry uses tons of precautionary antibiotics. All adding to this problem of resistant bacteria and such. The market, us, should be able to regulate this. If we are comfortable with the consequences, we could keep eating products that required lots of pesticides and antibiotics.
But that means no longer being "the best" and that would be so sad when you believe you are the best. Let's refer that as the american dream. Time to wake up. The reality is that about 6.5billion people don't see the US as the best for some time now. Like you say. You can have a very good life without being the best.
It really shouldn't matter what you are. If the metal detector goes off, you have to take off the shoes and every thing else that could cause the alarm. I don't see any reason for exceptions. What's the point of having a metal detector if you're not acting on an alarm...
You can hate the TSA, but at least they're doing their job.
My guess is the nsa wouldn't mind if their servers were hacked by concerned Europeans. That's the same as what they do anyway. And don't complain. My national security is a national matter.
No. There will be more food problems. Food prices will increase, so people in poorer countries will starve. Western world will not care, but just buy their food and say something about capitalism having it's way.
Climate will change and nature will adjust as it did for millions of years. The question is not if the "new" climate will be habitable. It will be. The question is if will fit in.

Researchers are good at researching. They can write some code though. Programmers are good at programming. They know how to write good code that is easy to maintain and adapt.
If you're a researcher with some experience in writing code, you should ask you self, "should I spend that much time writing code, while a programmer does a better job in less time while it has also less bugs, will be reviewed and has unit tests"? Also, how much do you know about design patterns? Sure. Your code works without. Good luck with it. Also good luck with the headache in one year.
So if I leave my front door open, that gives you the right to barge in and take stuff from my refrigerator?
I don't want my television to give me recommendations based on my browser history!

I don't see that many differences.
Gather even more data, I guess...

I'll down vote it on IMDB because of the reputation damage from this court decision.
But I'm having a hard time believing them. Time and again it turns out money is involved in "objective" advice.
They evade their taxes in the Netherlands, so it's a Dutch band.
You can't just blame the NSA for the fucked up reputation.
Government, Guantanamo Bay, Wall street, big corporations, Sopa, Pipa, TPP......

I don't get it.
There 's a lot of talk about how much this shut down has cost.
Shouldn't the discussion be about getting rid of that USD 17.000.000.000.000 debt??
That is only about USD 55.000 per inhabitant.
Do something about it. Seriously.
You could replace it with a republican WeDontCareAboutYou.
Giving a fuck you to millions of people who cant afford health care is easy and cheap.
