I understand your point, but if the difference in reliability wasn't massively signifigant, and the cost much lower by gigabyte, it would still be a more appealing backup method. A lot like the users espousing a disk-based backup method.
Personally, I do my backups on CD-R. It's slow, but it works, and if you get good media, they'll last plenty long. (eg Verbatim Datalife)
I know it's a bit late, but I feel compelled to comment. I was at the LAN where these laptops were, and they were pretty decent. I mean, the Dell XPS outperforms my machine by a small margian, and the voodoo looks sweet.
That said, they played the games smooth, but my thinkpad 390e is going to have to be enough for now.
I personally haven't veiwed the code, but I've seen a couple "reveiws" of the code by academics and those who snagged a copy on the last leak, and from what I understand, it's actually suprisingly well written and commented.
I'm not sure if that would hold true for a computer program, though. It is, afterall, doing what it was told to do, even if that might not be the desired result. It's not like a tire exploding.
Ok, I understand your angle, but someone going around and saying that I had gotten them pregnant was only a small worry; I was more frightened by the concept of actually getting someone pregnant, not only becuase I despise children, but because I wouldn't be able to support one.
Yes indeed. Didn't want to deal with the hassles in high school after the first girl I even came close with decided to go around telling people I got her pregnant (despite the fact that we didn't have sex)
You're quite welcome.
You're thinking about an even distribution.
The mean(average) is not always the median.
Well, I know I'd rather mind if 10% of me was missing.
You're probably thinking of KiloBYTES per second, as opposed to kiloBITS per second.
30KB (The uppercase means BYTES) is actually 256kb (The lowercase means bits), which is twice as fast ast the 128kb they're talking about.
It's a pretty common mistake, though.

Easier backups from higher capacity might make it more desirable than other less, "error prone" methods.
You do realize that most computer power adapters are dual-voltage, right?

DivX. 90 minutes of video can fit into 600MB and look good while doing it.

It would be nice if those plans didn't cost 2-3 times the cost of a new battery.
Have a link for that?
Yes, but that's also a peice of crap. It's a dog when it comes to actual performance.
You know, I'm normally into emoish stuff, but that was damn good.
Ok, I understand not reading the articles...
but not reading the write up?

Yes, exactly.
I didn't have sex with her.
Then she started telling people that I got her pregnant.
I am avoiding such problems by abstaining from sexual relations until such time that I find someone I care more about.

Usually the serial number on the drive itself ought to be enough.
Mind asking them where? I know a few people who would very likely kill for that.
I got a pack myself. The thing is, she knows I'm completely abstient.
(and yes, it's a matter of choice. =P)
I dunno. The thing is, even though it didn't beat him outright all four games, it did beat him.
I think that's saying a whole hell of a lot, even if this is a specialized application.
No, he actually meant the hard drive.
Mashie does, in fact, know the difference.
It's actully from the old parent company, Xabre.
So it should be SGI... but I think someone might be upset if they did that.
