The strategy of rushing rarely works against a good player such as myself.
Thats why theres ways to defend against it.
Build orders which are defensive and offensive,
Quick expansion and high defensive strategy works against someone who rushes in with a ton of troops.
Quick rushing works against someone who does not expand and has no defense.
What good is having alot of troops if you dont know how ot properly use them? having good skills with your troops is even more important, in Starcraft attacing with battlecruisers alone is useless, but having scv repairing them, backed up with cloaked wraiths and some marines and scv building bunkers, is very difficult to stop, yet a newbie would not know how to launch such a complicated attack or defend against one.
If you play starcraft on battlenet most people suck and thats why you think the game isnt deep, i have 50+ wins and under 10 losses, mainly because people i play against dont use strategy, they try to use brute force and it never works.
brute force = make 100 marines and attack in large groups.
Strategy = using 10 marines bunkered right behind their mineral line killing their economy thus their attack force.
While it makes logical sense for them to do so, isnt Wine GPL? Which means they have to give up the source code, which basically means their product will be free for us.
This company does have enough money to create their own Wine or created some kinda modified kernel.
Perhaps if you were willing to teach every programming language to every Linux user on the planet earth, Then they all could contribute to projects.
Problem is, not every linux user is a programmer, the ones which are may not be programmers in C++ or C, and THEN the ones who program in C like myself, may not be good enough at it to contribute anything useful.
Please think before you talk, because such an opinion is exactly why only 0.1 percent of the population is using linux and why Linux is known as the geek OS.
Accept people with open arms, teach them, and motivate them to code, make them like coding, dont yell at them, call them leeches and freeloaders, and push them away.
If you want more coders, or more linux users, advocate coding, if a person cannot code advocate donations to make up for it, or ask them to write documentation, theres many ways to contribute without coding.
A laptop is a portible computer. Now i dont know about you, but my computer was the key to my success in school, I used it to do my homework, to study, etc.
We would use the computers at school to surf the net to get information for assignments and research, we would type up papers and submit them for review, and because they were typed, handwriting was not an issue nor was spelling. This helped us because learning to write isnt about having nice fancy handwriting or being a spelling bee champion.
And if there were laptops in school, i think it would bring everyone closer together, people may actually study with one another via the net.
A kid could use the laptop to do his homework AT school.
A kid could use the laptop to do MORE english work than he could possible handwrite, 10 page papers now dont sound so bad when you have microsoft word.
The owner of the laptop can LEARN to install an OS by teaching themselves, the way way I learned computers and most people here.
Imagine your english teacher telling you stuff and you typing the notes
then she says use that information to write an essay and you just edit your notes a bit and print it right there.
You dont need to do a math problem a million times to understand the principle of how its done.
I was allowed to use calculators in math class, I admit i'm not good at math, but i'd be far worse if i had to do algebra, trig, and statistics by hand because theres no way i would do my math work without a calculator
Not because i dont know how to do it, but because it takes too long.
Kids who cant focus with a laptop cant without one

When i was in school i couldnt focus with a pen and paper, I'd draw and pass notes to my friends.
With a laptop it wont be any diffrent. However the diffrence is, for the kids who can focus at that age, they will definately get better grades.
I said this is the first step to solving the software problem.
The only problem remaining is the hardware.
Most power users run the same hardware (the best hardware) So this shouldnt be such an issue.
IF what you say is true, Power users would have never left windows98 for windows2k because windows98 was stable enough, and ran more software, and has better hardware support.
Transgaming would be making money off of their games thats the reason.
They'd be better off selling linux games for $20 extra and getting the money transgaming is getting than having people buy windows games and running it on linux. You see they want you to buy the game twice because they make double the money.
Mandrake also has the WindowsNT Windows 2000 Power user crowd.
The only thing missing from the power user OS was the games. Power users want their games, well now they have it. Its only a matter of time before millions of windows2k buying Gforce3 using gamers rush the Linux OS.
We always WERE a republic.
We vote, but we still have representives, we dont vote directly on every issue, we vote certain people into office who decide the laws and do all the voting for us.
We are a republic. a democracy = direct voting from everyone deciding every law.
packing games with linux and calling it the gaming edition is genius.
Gamers who may not otherwise have ever known about linux will see linux plays games and may actually improve frame rates and speed, they might actually buy it just for gaming purposes considering they spend $500 almost for Gforce3 graphics cards and soundcard. Linux could be sold on the fact that it is a "gaming" OS.
Think about that.
Example. Linux Mandrake Gaming Edition (Starcraft)
Linux Mandrake Gaming Edition (Warcraft 3)
Linux Mandrake Gaming Edition (Quake 3)
And if they manage to somehow get these versions to have higher frame rates, extra features, and perhaps make it easy enough to install, people will have a reason to use linux. To play their favorite games!
Sorry to burst your feel-good bubble, but nearly 40% of every dollar paid in federal taxes goes toward the military and intelligence agencies, as it has for years. If that can't protect us from terrorism, I don't see what can.
Well then, we need to raise the taxes our else 50-60-70% will go to military which means less for what we actually want.
Loki had their chance.
They cannot do what needs to be done.
What we need is games in linux, They dont have to be native games.
I subcribed to transgaming, We are voting for them to mostly port old games, leaving the newer games to loki
Loki will still have a job, Loki can port directX 9 based games, while WineX works with all the old games.
The dicussions from the voting subcribers have said that most of them want old game support more than the new stuff.
Loki is just being a typical company here, trying to have all the money to themselves.
Theres plenty of strategy.
The strategy of rushing rarely works against a good player such as myself.

Teach them programming, not a useless career like Web Development.
What good is more web developers when theres no Web Economy? Kinda stupid eh?
I say teach them programming because then they'd actually be able to get a Job.
Transgaming runs on LINUX
Dont support this peice of crap Lindows!
While it makes logical sense for them to do so, isnt Wine GPL? Which means they have to give up the source code, which basically means their product will be free for us.
This company does have enough money to create their own Wine or created some kinda modified kernel.
Lindows prolly will be running ON NTFS or Fat32, Its not Linux.
First its going to have binary compatibility with windows which means sure it may use the Linux Kernel but the internals will be Windows too.
This is no more Linux than Win Linux 2000 or PhatLinux is.
Its not Linux, OR Windows. Its some sorta hybrid OS which wont be either.
If we are trying to convert people to Linux, Creating a third option which is like Windows is not the way to go.
I see this Lindows OS competiting with and even beating Redhat and Mandrake, This wont be good because it will be competiting with and beating Linux.
Perhaps if you were willing to teach every programming language to every Linux user on the planet earth, Then they all could contribute to projects.

Some people just arent good at math or spelling.
Should a genius at say science, not get a chance because he failed math class in 5th grade?
Einstien failed math you know.

People from seperate classes even!
English, Writing, etc, well since a laptop has a word processor, that answers your question.
History? The internet.
Homework? Do do it on your way home from school or in school.
Math? ok math is hard to do on laptops, but anything dealing with text is easier on a computer than hand writing it.
A kid could use the laptop to do his homework AT school.
A kid could use the laptop to do MORE english work than he could possible handwrite, 10 page papers now dont sound so bad when you have microsoft word.

Imagine your english teacher telling you stuff and you typing the notes

I've seen somenoe do this.

You should BUY linux, however once you buy something you should OWN it.
This means you have the right to do whatever you want to it because the source code is now owned by you!

Millions arent really helping prevent this from happening again. You need billions for that.
Millions is just for the families.
