and as for "Many of us have had the experience of going to Amazon to buy one thing but checking out with a huge shopping cart of items that we didn't initially seek" Never done that. I go find what I want order it. Other things that might be interest might go on the Wih List, but never gone in for one thing and got a ton more at the same time.
Sounds like really really poor impulse control issues...
Graphics quality come into it too. I've noticed Wii graphics aren't as good as X360/PS3. Look at the recent Ghostbusters video game on the X360 or P3 vs. the Wii...
A degree requires someone who can afford over-priced tuition, over-priced textbooks (and the associated over-priced internet materials access card), and doesn't need a full-time job or have a family to support.
Critical thinking would cause the masses to rise up in arms against the mess we have called "The Government" and "Big Business", can't have that, so let's distract them with lower standards and gadgets that draw their attention away from how bad things have gotten...
"Personally, I think these tax breaks are unconstitutional, because they violate the equal protection clause. Why should one business get a special exemption, when others (including their competitors) do not?"
Could not agree more. But with big business owning the politicians, not gonna change.
Eliminate all contributions and get rid of the "optional" campaign finance box on tax returns to make everyone use the same pool (and make Bribery/Influence-trading a Treason-level offense).
Not everyone in that "Tax Area" works for the company getting the break, and the state/City has to make up the lost revenue somewhere, guess who gets gouged?
Then don't fucking complain that there are no good options if you aren't willing to make the effort yourself.
Software ain;t cheap, and neither is maintaining the infrastructure of the internet. Of you don't like any of the myriad of e-mail options out there, why should someoen make one for you? Pay for it. If you aren't weilling to do it yourself, you are in no position to cry about the products of those who do procduce something are "inadequate" to YOUR needs...

Are they really just remote controlled devices rather than autonomous "robots"?

Exactly.
The DHS and TSA are examples of a government out of control and trampling the rights of all citizens, just most aren't rich enough to get it public.
Next time? Buy American...
The more people waiting in line, the more Job Security for the clerk-drone...
"Um, the FCC wants you to pay for overpriced cell service from their OWNERS, the Big Telcos."
FTFY
Snowball's chance in hell?
You need better quality friends...
I don't buy video games for multiplayer (one exception, WoW, but I'd rather fire up a home server and not deal with the asshats).
I want a game that I don;t have to rely on someone else to play.
If I want to play with someone, I will, but I prefer my video games solo.
True enough. It still amazes me at GameStop that any recent "Used Game" is only $5 less than the new copy.
Just wait two or three years, then get you new or used game for half or less than what it was new.

A lot of people want to be rich and not have to work, doesn't make them right, rational, or make it right to force others to follow their beliefs...
They still have a choice, even if they find it distasteful, it's still their CHOICE!
Rape/slavery is another crime altogether. Stop this idiotic attempt to equate porn with crime.
True, breaking Microsoft's stranglehold will require a shift in corporate culture.
Doesn't even come with a system restore disc either unless you create one yourself.
And I didscovered on my Lenovo desktop, it doesn't even create a basic restore disk, it creates a Full backup, including all data files....
And this is the even better solution... (Libre- or Open-Office will do)
How well did that turn out for Rome? ;)
Exactly. What is the actual cost/benefits ratio here?
Saying we made it there? So what? What's the point if there's nothing there of use of value that we can bring or make use of back here on Earth?
Are we out of human suffering and everyone has enough food, water, shelter, medical care, and jobs that we can piss away money into space?
We have more important things to spend money on than a moon or Mars base.
Yes, that was why I chose the wording I did. Irony is lost on AC's....
