    I thought cable was invented to give people in rural areas access to television... so why wouldn't the same apply to internet access?

    Why would I pay for satellite access when I can get cable access for the same price, and get much lower latency? You can't use sat access for gaming because the ping is so ridiculously high. My father had satellite access for a while, and the upstream was over a standard modem, so in addition to high ping, the upstream was a tiny little pipe.

    In short: yuck.

    I'm not surprised; they lose money selling the systems, and since they didn't make a huge splash when it debuted, they're not catching up with the software sales. I mean, hey, the library is pitifully small compared to the Playstation 2 (it's about the same as Gamecube, but the Gamecube is cheaper and the games just look more fun.)

    I played an Xbox a couple times... I don't know. I just don't have the same fun that I do on a PS2 or Gamecube. Xbox has all this horsepower and no track to race it on.

    If you haven't agreed to their terms, then you shouldn't be using the site. If they stipulate that you are to register some personal information with them in exchange for using the site, and you falsify information, you are lying. That is just plain unethical. Not to mention, probably illegal.

    Does anyone know of any spam solutions for IMAP? Everything I've seen out there is POP3, but goddammit I like my IMAP folders!!! (Not to mention that the server on which my e-mail resides gets backed up nightly...)

    Why is the article posting the FULL names including street adresses ... This would be highly illegal in most of the rest of the world

    This would be on record if they've been charged... a lot of small/local newspapers publish this information; mostly it is to help distinguish one John Brown from another John Brown, to avoid libel lawsuits from the John Brown that wasn't charged with a crime.

    And if they try to circumvent it, well, there's yet another case of people trying to be dishonest.
