    Exactly. There are many stories (and well worth reading) pointing at numerous 'edge' cases where the three laws can get a little ambiguous. I.e. since a robot should never allow a person to come to harm, through action or inaction. However, should a robot allow itself to come to harm (probably through inaction) if the robot determines that the person will come to harm anyway? And how do you tell if the robot breaks Law 1 in this case?

    That, detective, is the right question. Program terminated.

    For me it was when you dropped your punch card deck, it would be scrambled.

    That's why I always punched sequence numbers in col 73-80. If the deck is dropped, a few minutes in the card sorter and the problem is fixed.

    Indeed. The government built some nice houses for the Navajos on the reservation and they lived in them for a bit but then moved back out to their hogans (pronounced ho-gones) because that is where they were most comfortable. The left the houses open and sheep/dogs/etc. wandered in and out.
