It's scary to think that at some point the developer's thinking process involved the following:
You know, we could revolutionize gaming if we found a way to combine:
The dorky virtual-bedroom-romps of Leisure Suit Larry.
The horribly linear goal-to-goal fulfillment of Police Quest.
SUBMARINE DRIVIN!
Then of course, there is Hugo, and his plenary of misadventures.
Hugo's House of Horrors defies all logic by the fact that it is HUGO'S VERY OWN HOUSE, so I don't see why he'd find it all that horrifying, or for that matter, why he'd let death-causing traps/creatures into his home in the first place.
Hugo 2: Whodunit? is a "murder mystery", and by "murder mystery", I mean an entirely linear adventure game with no real mystery, since after the first time you get it, it pretty much is solved.
Hugo 3: Jungle of Doom is, well, I have no clue. I think they made a 3D version.
Now to the point; how these games affected me. After raping my life of many precious years, and replacing them with a confused, frustrated soul that only knows how to hate adventure games, a decade later I've rediscovered Iceman and Hugo. After plugging away at them for the past month, I have made no greater progress then I did ten years ago. Of course, I don't think Gamefaqs was around then. *click*
"Bobby Fischer got underneath it like no one before and found at its center, art. I spent my life trying to play like him. Most of these guys have. But we're like forgers. We're competent fakes. His successor wasn't here tonight. He wasn't here. He is asleep in his room in your house. Your son creates like Fischer. He sees like him, inside."
And in the words of Homeless Fishburne, "COME ON GRANDMASTER.. All right, CHECK to his majesty, no, no, no, no, check yourself before you wreck yourself, you can't have it, HELLO! That's right, run, run, somebody call the police, this man is loitering!"
While "Signs" is certainly one of the best (if not THE best) movies I've ever seen, perhaps this "paranormal/alien/government conspiracy" article may be a byproduct of M. Night manipulating his way into my every nightmare?

I'm going to come along and ask you shift yourself into positive mode, mmmkay?
If you could plow through those TPS reports, that'd be great... Yeah, okay, and I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Saturday, mmmkay, greaaaaat...
I find it oddly tame that all michael has to say with this article is "There's a reuters story as well."
He was able to expand into about 8 paragraphs with "Another Gaping Microsoft Security Hole Goes Unpatched."
When it is *nix, its "developer notice", and when it is win* it is "microsoft wants to rape us of our rights"?
I'm probably missing something, like 'duh, you shouldn't use telnet'. Then again, I actually believe the vapid notion that you'll be okay if you download from trusted sources, so I'm not worried about IE. I will save people the time and tell myself that there is no such thing as a trusted source:)
It's called "post-secondary education". They take all your money for tuition, and you live cash-less for many years. It's not as great as you make it out to be!
It's a shame when a company creates a realy good product and then lets it die by lack of advertising...
Look Communications used to be worth something, they had a great product available for people like me in the 'sticks' (high speed wireless), and then they flushed their own proverbial toilet because their advertising model was garbage. Working at a store which retailed their accounts, I saw weekly price changes which rendered brochures and signs useless, and now all I'm left with is a stack of pamphlets which apparently we should 'hold on to' until they release the next phase.
The smash-hit blockbuster 'TOYS' with Robin Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr.!
That movie was years before its time. It had the brainwashing-youths-with-videogames and the remote-controlled-armies.

The company Intuit makes Quickbooks POS software.. are these the same people?
I have a bookpc, they're absolutely great for travelling, but I'm want to know where the boards with 32mb integrated tnt2 chips are / do they exist?
