don't take this the wrong way, but, why would you need your keyboard lit up? I mean, don't you look at the screen when you type? better yet, doesn't the monitor give off enough light that "you know where the keyboard is?" I mean, if you want the keyboard lit, I think you could get a little snake light or a desk lamp..I mean, if its "dark" and needs to be dark, the monitor is like keeping a tv set on...
I've never used it myself...i've seen the screen, but almost heart attack seeing it.
Can you hit Alt-S to send a message in it? You can't do it in Netscape mail...I HATE THAT..
If I have to pick up the mouse when I don't need to, I want to shoot myself.
This kid shouldn't have gotten suspended at all...
maybe the school should have thought of him with some skill sets and put him in a place where he belongs, maybe some advanced classes or something, rather than suspending him. When I use to hack the school computers, nothing ever happened, because no one knew what was even happening...
on another note, maybe kids who bring in guns should join the rifle team:)
Your boss can do that anyway, even if your salary, no? Its not as simple as a contract worker, but I wouldn't consider myself "locked in" to a position...everyone's replaceable..
funny though as simple as computers are, these stupid corporate bastards can't map a drive, or "add a network printer"...amazing how the entire office goes to shit if i'm not in it because one person can't print or can't get email...
and they tell me they'd rather wait for me to come back then call my backup in another state...
i'm not saying my job is tough, because you know what, its not, but its amazing when I'm walking people through how to send an email out...stupid shit like that...this happens every day...if there was a PANIC button on people's desk, my board would be bright red.
in refrence to your napster comment..you know what, too? I don't spend time on napster, but I do spend time on Instant Messenger..not only do people ask me questions relating to my job on it, but, I'm the first to know when "the net is down."
IT departments aren't departments that make money. Money making departments are SALES and the like.
Its the igornant management (or people) like yourself when we go to you and say "HR wants to setup a centralized database on a server" and give you a quote on a server that costs $8,000 (minimum requirements "to fit the budget") and you say no, and you make me put in some Gateway Desktop machine with no RAID in it that makes your company lose business..but hey! We just saved $7500 short-term! woohoo!
oddly enough, a few chick friends I have, when they went to college, they would punch in their credit cards once in a while...think it was curiosity (sp?)...
I think any pop up is annoying...if I wanted that shit opened, I would've clicked on it...now I gotta swing around and close out all this crap..McAfee's site is full of them...they always get in the way of where I want to click...and when those lame sites that shoot up 15 different popups and keep reopening, I can't even find the site I was browsing before that...
I agree with you completely, however, I currently run a Dual PII 266mhz machine, and have recently thrown in a NVidia GEForce2 GTS card from Creative, however, on some of my gameZ I still can't get the detail to the highest point without it chugging... so fustrating!
There's software like that for Winamp, I can't remember the name, but, that technology never has really worked correctly anyway, because I would think the Genre's are unsorted correctly. For explain, Pink Floyd could be listed under Rock, Pop, etc, etc...same goes for the other million groups out there...
Take a look at cdnow, they have that setup based on what you buy, and it displays music I wouldn't even think about listening to.
you forgot to mention where they call you and say "Hey Todd! I was wondering if you could call me back, I have a question about my email."
Instead, they could've said "Hey Todd!, How do you open email?" and I could've called them back and said "doubleclick m$ product", instead, I have to talk to the person for 20 hours on what they did since they woke up out of bed to resolve an icon problem.
That may not be too good either. Having too many fans can cause bad circulation pushing air back and forth to each other, doing nothing at all.
Check out a pic at this site towards the bottom how "ATX Standards" show how to cool off the system...
Honestly, Out of the two types of cases I have, I have a In-Win Q500A and two Enlight Cases (Full and Mid-Tower), the Enlights stay super cool, the panel is always cold to the touch, the In-Win burns up on the side...I love my Inwin case though...its just always HOT..
absoultely.
I'm not saying go out and do drugs, I'm just saying, thats what I did to get away..
and you know what, I learned alot from it..
better that I did them in highschool then watching some ooooold friends who thought I was crazy for going to keg parties, start doing coke and all that other bullshit when they got into college, where it really counts...thats, supercool my friend.
funny you say...
I was the typical geek...typed 90 words a minute in 10th grade..weighed a buck ten soaking wet....dressed in all black....ALWAYS picked on until 10th grade when I met my friends....I just turned to drugs..smoking bong hits 4th period before bio class was way cool enough for people to leave you alone...the "big" friends I had helped much too...
would I kill anyone? nah, i'm not that type of person. but you know what, all those punks who used to pick on me when I was younger, when I see them on the train platform in their new, unfitted suits, I laugh at them, because I look good and been doing this shit for 6 years now when they're only starting...mommy bought them this and that...and I did it on my own...I conquered...and you can see the pathetic look in their eyes when they look at you going "holy shit"...

Phil Anselmo says it best: "Get Stoned, Get Drunk, Get Laid"
you would think that since AOL went all out this time and wrote across all platforms, they would write a command line version of AIM and they wouldn't have to worry about it...its not like people are writing apps to hack the crap out of their system...and CAIM and GAIM and all those are better than AOL's X version..and some people can't run X all the time...
it is a great idea, but still needs a ton of work. Unfortuntely, I can't write code worth shit, and the AIM portion is very buggy. Drops connections constantly and you wouldn't even know it. I do like the fact if I through an away msg, and I talk to someone who's window is still open, I'm still away though...Soon skywalker, soon.

Thats wierd, I saw this listed as an easter egg that when you enter the correct password, it displays a jpg of Bill Gates with his fist up my ass.

same thing here, a friend and I ran a board about 7-10 years ago. According to his mom, that line STILL rings.
