    Shared disk does not make I/O happy.

    PCIE SSDs are advertised to deliver 100,000 to 500,000 IOPs. Has anyone experimented with PCI-Express based SSD solutions in their VM hosts to keep high IO VMs like VDI and SQL from swamping their SAN infrastructure?

    It's pretty insightful at how pretty pointless they are.

    If this petition hits 25,000, it will give non-compromised journalists an additional talking point that deserves to be brought up: that this legislation was bought.

    By being part of a jury pool, you are basically imprisoned during the jury time. Do anything beyond sneezing or don't show up and you get contempt of court and a fine or jail (judge discretion). It is not optional. Anyone see a problem with that?

This is somewhat effective on an individual basis, but in large organizations shared documents get duplicated dozens or even hundreds of times as each user has their own copy. In the next few years products like Sharepoint will alleviate some of that, though storage is cheap enough that it may not be worth the cost to both reeducate users and build the infrastructure for it. A SAN can hold real a lot of word documents and PDFs after all...

    Given that nearly all digital still cameras, and all digital video cameras have video out (usually RCA), I could see some photographers buying this as a chimping tool.
