Assuming the "negative goodwill" from disconnecting customers who request the service costs less than implementing it and dealing with the lawsuites from violations down the line, this might not actually be a bad idea. If several Utah ISPs were to do it might just make a difference.
Then again, maybe I'm just blowing smoke out my ass. heh
(A parent complained about his son possibly being kicked out because he's native american. That's bad, right? It gets worse: The store manager and another employee proceded to beat teh crap out him, dislocating his shoulder, among other things). I kid you not.
On the bright side, the kids won't have to worry about college. Dad'll probably get a new boat out of it too.
1)Get a clear plastic container to hold the cpu and monitor (or two seperate cases if you use a CRT).
2)Cut a hole in said plastic case and epoxy/hotglue/ductape a resperator filter or part of a vacume cleaner bag over it.
3) Go about building the CPU as you would go about building a home theater PC or similar in terms of heat output and fans and such.
4) Put your USB, ethernet, and power connections through other some smaller holes, and seal those with electrical tape or epoxy or something.
5) depending on where you live you might also want to put some kind of moisture obsorbing material in the case like paper towels or drierite desiccants.
6) If you're a cheap masochist, you might get a ball mouse. Otherwise, just get a regular optical mouse and carefully tape flexible plastic around the edges of the buttons (with enough slack for the buttons to function).
news.com.au are reporting an Australian court has been told that two men dressed as characters from 'Counter Strike' shot and killed a man during a Sydney home invasion
Sounds like you're talking about storing photos as you take them, but the original poster was talking about photos stored for playback.
I'm talking about archiving my photos without lugging around an expensive, fragile laptop. Being able to show them on a TV is just a bonus. I shoot all of my photos with the intention of being able to produce prints of a reasonable quality.
High quality jpg's from my digital camera are 2.5MB each, and it is only a 5 megapixel camera, which is pretty much entry level these days for serious photogrophers.
Does anyone else think that this a bit overkill. 60Gb is a LOT when you are just talking about music and pictures.
I could fill this up on a backpacking expedition or vacation.
290pics/gig *60 gigs = 17400 jpg or 53pics/gig * 60 = 3180 raw photos from my d70. That's not including the 5 gigs of music I might bring along too. Compare the cost of this (and an ipod CF reader) with other portable photo hardrive options and it should look very attractive.
I'd love to see one of these with an onboard 40gb HD so that I could upload and preview my photos with it on the road, AND have the features of a PDA in one unit (eg, IR for controlling my camera), wifi, etc. My ideal features set would be:
VGA screen 40gb HD wifi IR Compactflash slot 10 hrs of batter life GSM would be good too priced at about $600-$800
That sound you hear is thousands of hippies bubbling with excitment over the idea of a grass-fired powerplant!
So is this burning of grass somehow different from the smoking of grass?
So if Apple wants some more serious enterprise apps, all they have to do is aquire Novell in a year...

And if you're a soda drinker, try adding Gatorade powder to your water. Made my transition from Mountain Dew more pleasent.
That'd be a good joke to make tomorrow when the story gets duplicated.

If I was a gambling man, I'd put money that the new wintel consumer workstation quality king will be Alienware.
Apparently the only defense against this kind of thing is to have really bad credit.

I've heard good things about the durability of rollup keyboards.
7) Upgrade the sound system in your house so that you can hear it clearly out in your shed. Make sure that you can control it via ssh.
good luck!
