    I tried RC2 on an athlon 1700+ with 768Mb ram. Just sitting at the desktop with nothing open windows was using 40-50% of ram. I would say if you are going to play games on it, 1Gb would be minimum.

    I have a CRT at home, LCD at work. The LCD is so much easier on my eyes its incredible. Next time I look for a new monitor for home, I will probably favor on LCD for this reason.

    OK, now what happens if your name is already taken on the new server?

    I'm on Bonechewer (my char's name is farnsworth) and for at least a week I get party invites from people 30 levels above me and people sending me messages obviously meant for someone else. I just wish they mailed me some good items to sell. :)

    you'll be lucky to get over dsl/cable modem speeds (there is the rare exception) when downloading with ftp/http -- p2p usually depends on the file and the time of day

    i bought half-life ages ago. i dusted it off to play it 2 or 3 years ago I could not play online for at least a month because my cdkey was "in use"

    I have to say, the country bias is not just an American thing. Every single event that has a Canadian participant is covered in some way. For example, the Men's Team Gymnastics Qualifiers were generally fairly well covered, but absolutely had a Canadian content edge to them. Break to the finals, with no Canadian team involved. You got to see one participant from each of the top 4 teams (US, China, Japan, and Romania) perform each event. Zoom over to the American networks, and you get to see *all* of the performances of those same top 4 teams. The same held true for the Women's competition.

    It happens in every country
