I do not trust the APA anymore in regards to LGBT and its stances on mental illness in this subject matter. They are just as political as the rest of us. They place politics over medical evidence or attempt to form that evidence to fit their narrative and stay as middle-of-the-road as possible.
From what I'm reading on their web post about the issue, it seems like there might be *ulterior motives* to PayPal blocking Neo900 from getting their funds to run business as usual.
Probably because the tech inside the phone (modem separated from CPU and cannot be remotely activated whatsoever) poses a real danger to surveillance efforts from the US government, at least.
This is, of course, all speculation with a dash of paranoia. Maybe it is just some technicality that will be resolved in short order.
I'm *really* curious to know what would happen if China or some other country where we get most of our semiconductors from, for some unknown reason, cuts off production and exports to USA and we were left to fend for ourselves in terms of manufacturing computer hardware and other technology items...
Could US companies feel compelled enough to restart manufacturing back here on US soil and swallow lost profit margins?
The impression I get from some of these smartphone quadcopter "pilots" that any and all of these rules are believed to be largely unenforceable in most areas of the country except for extremely dense public spaces... maybe.
Airports shouldn't be a problem for enforcing these rules, but in other places... I don't think they will fare well.
Admittedly, it would be pretty difficult without the right tech and a good set of eyes on the skies all the time in the city, countryside, and every other place around the country. Many people can probably get away with breaking these rules frequently without much, if any, consequence.
Synthetic bioweapons are the name of the game in the Resident Evil franchise. Personally, I have always considered something like this to be a distinct possibility, so should we be surprised at this development?
Or should we all be calling for Leon S. Kennedy and friends to save the day once more?
The video game franchise "Fallout" is all I'm thinking when seeing news like this. In the Fallout universe, nuclear war breaks out in the year 2077 between USA and China (in this universe, the USSR still exists and is an ally to China) as the Earth's non-renewable resources like fossil fuels run out.
In our world, it just seems to be purely over who controls the World Order: the East or the West? I'm sure there are many factors I'm unaware of right now, but this buildup of military forces in the Pacific has me concerned for the future.
For more info on what I'm referring to, here's the Fallout Wiki's article on the "Great War" aka WWIII. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/...
From my perspective, even though the Xbox One is limited in its capabilities as a full-on computer, malware could bring havoc upon the XBL community... This feels like opening a Pandora's Box, to me...
That would be totally awesome if we could see that each time we did that... And had the ability to turn off the telemetry readings if we get annoyed by it each time...
Looks like ISP's better watch their collective back. Google coming to screw telecom monopolies over and give the customer what they truly want in an obscure city somewhat near you...
I feel as if a million T-Mobile customers screamed out in agony and are snuffed once they have read this article...
So, even though the account holder can disable the censoring, would it be an accurate guess that quite a few slashdotters with T-Mobile here are now considering leaving to a different telecom?
I think Huawei was also left out of consideration when AT&T and Verizon were looking to build more LTE towers in the US. Or was that the federal government didn't want their equipment out of this fear?
Although, isn't "locking" the phone about as good as bricking? Or can that be disabled by connecting it to any computer with iTunes? Yes, the data would be erased, as far as I know, but would this still work?
If your *smartphone* (not feature phone) is stolen, in particular if it's Android or iOS, there are a number of solutions one could use without having to resort to calling police to "brick" your phone, other than retrieving it.
Apple has the "Find My iPhone" service and you are able to locate your phone (if it's still on), able to lock it, send a message, and wipe your device.
Android has, I don't know, 10+ different apps that can do that available on the Android Market. This is not including some manufacturers' own services natively installed onto their devices, like Motorola's MotoBlur service, that does all of the above.
Perhaps the kids find it a complete escape into another world, like many of those that play MMORPGs and Action RPGs like Mass Effect and Fallout.
I recently had to swear off of RPGs because of how deeply immersive they got for me. It got hard to tell what was real in the game and what wasn't. I was extremely absorbed in the story.
And I could say that I also reacted negatively when my parents told me to turn off the games back then. I became very frustrated and anxious for a few hours. Not necessarily violent, but the fact I got taken away from my story unwillingly did not help at all.
It's worse now, for story-driven people like me, with un-pauseable cutscenes and checkpoints that you must reach instead of saving whenever you want in some of these kinds of games.
Even when I turned off a game like these voluntarily I still get a bit anxious and find it a bit difficult to "get my head back in the game", usually because I found something within a story a bit disturbing (Mass Effect written all over this point) or just needed to go somewhere for a meeting or something in reality.
I would not be surprised to see reports from China that Foxconn workers are being treated a bit better over the next year... Thus eventually making Apple the most "labor-friendly".
Although, Foxconn manufactures devices for multiple companies, I believe. Doesn't Motorola also have their devices made there?
It only comes in two flavors and can be blended. Those that believe otherwise are fooling themselves. There are no other flavors than male and female.

Confirmation bias abound...

So, does this mean when I throw my Google Glasses off a cliff, will they explode in spectacular style?

I thought it stood for "China"... Originally, I thought the 5C would be sold initially in China, but I guess not. So, "Cheap" it is!
This would be the ultimate goal in Identity Verification... And then we find ourselves being cloned...
So this is essentially a hackathon? Please, correct me if I am wrong...
Looks like ISP's better watch their collective back. Google coming to screw telecom monopolies over and give the customer what they truly want in an obscure city somewhat near you...
fire ze missiles!
While this may not be tech-related, it's good to have this kind of news up on everyone's radar, just in case (no pun intended).
So, will we see OEM Windows PCs come by default with Thunderbolt ports? Or is this another fantastic, magical, extraordinary Apple Inc. exclusive?

Would love if someone clarified this.
Alright. Got it. Thank you for helping me to understand.
Alright, so these apps would only help if the perp intended on using the device themselves and had no intention of reselling.
But, yeah, by taking it up to the next level with IMEI cracking... That kind of nullifies any sense of security on the phone. :-/
Ah, I see...
