actually joe sixpack couldnt do that, and still cant. its become easiey, definately, but most people dont encode music, most people copy/download other peoples music. which they downloaded from someone else. occasionally i do meet someone that encodes cds, but its no the joe sixpack
i agree, this is not a troll, its a useful piece of info. this should be modded up as informative

i always liked the idea of a paperless office, but it kind of had the reverse effect. Instead of printing one copy because it was expensive/hard. people print 20 copies, which usually end up in the garbage (or recycled in theory). my boss wants job orders printed out so he can sign it physically so someone else can check it off electronically instead of him just checking it off in the software. of course he also schedules people to schedule a meeting for him too. so wahtever
but thats tricky because you are not intercepting, those airwaves are hitting your laptop, therefore your property. Its like that satelite case. satelite tv companies were bitching that people were just buying the dish and not buying the service. so they were enforced to encrypt the signal cause the govt said hey, its in the open air thats your prob
the patent process takes the assumption that only one person/entity can come up with an orginal idea. 2 people were developing the telephone, bell patented it mere hours before the other guy. patents are not the best solution in the world to protecting people's ideas. what does deserve a patent? think about it, i come up with an idea, i patent it, you come up with the same idea independantly, your out of luck
testify. the olympic games is a joke. the performance enhancing drugs that dont even have a name yet, the bribes, the dictatorship control of the board. the olympic games is the perfect example of everything that is wrong with the world. it hasnt been about national pride in years. its about packing advertisements everwhere, bending rules, etc.
that always has been common practice for the olympics, (not saying its okay) so its not just a salt lake city problem. also what is the problem with having a dozen wives? in the moral sense it may be wrong (i personally dont care if someone else does it) but why is it legally wrong? where does it supposidly harm society etc? stop pushing your personal morals onto others that dont want them
reminds me of that dilbert chapter. most people are ugly and you dont want to see them. id rather see an attractive looking person on the phone so he used the idea of digital representatives. sounds like an applicaple idea for this type
goes back to that silicon valley guy that helped start all the companies. He was such a pain to work with, i think his name was axely? worked at AT&T but no one liked him so they spun off companies
this isnt intended to you, just another line i like from that movie;
shut the fuck up donnie youre out of your element

why not, the Govt already bailed them out after sept 11. The companies have been mismanaged for years and they are trying to make it sound like sept 11th did all the damage. right

i guess an 800 lb guerrilla can threaten people. If felten was threatened to be sued by some yutz on the street, not a big deal. But when a powerful lobby and monopoly threatens someone its a bit different.
Actually that teen got to keep a huge amount of money though, last i heard. It was after the courts fined him, he still had several hundred thousand dollars left.

because the only way to make money nowadays is with patents, you cant actually make a product, noooo you have to rape your potential competitors.
