    You say "most," but again, can you prove this? I generally don't make sweeping generalizations of pro-copyright people.

    Is it not typical to say this about someone you disagree with? Personally, I'd be careful about thinking that you're 100% correct lest you become closed-minded. My opinion.

    Maybe. But I do know full grown adults who feel no guilt about it whatsoever. They're also completely anti-copyright.

    They assuage their guilt by familiarizing themselves with the evils of the recording industry and "stick it to the man".

    It's interesting that you'd make this generalization, but can you prove it's true? Or can you not read minds?

    Speak for yourself (which you did). I've seen plenty of kids play video games, even violent ones, and they aren't affected negatively at all. This is anecdotal evidence, of course. But that's exactly what you gave.

    I don't see the effects as being that severe for the majority of the population.

    What real-world effects does this have, if any (crime rates are certainly not going up)? How severe is the effect? Which individuals does it affect? I've only heard of temporary aggressive behavior.

    I don't see why not. As I said, the kids are fine. They were taught from a very young age that video games do not represent reality.

    So, anecdotal evidence, then? I've seen plenty of children that are perfectly fine playing games like Grand Theft Auto. Even extremely young ones. The key is often teaching them that they're not reality and they're not typically good things to turn to for life advice (if they don't already realize that).

    But different people are different. Some people may be effected negatively, and perhaps those ones should stay away from the games.

    We expose people of all ages in our society to violence that they are encouraged to perceive as normal, at least normal to experience as a voyeur rather than a participant.

    Care to explain what real-world effects, if any, this has, and then prove it? Or is that just your opinion?

    I don't really believe that people believe books/movies/games are reality. I don't even believe they'd effectively desensitize (doesn't matter anyway) them if something actually happened.

    Wow, really? Maybe someone should inform them that governments are made up of people. And then they should inform them that people can be corrupted and/or make mistakes. And then tell them to read up on a bit of history.

    No government is immune from corruption. Giving a government too much power is usually a bad idea (unless corruption is your goal).

    I don't remember doing that. I said that it would be possible for a officer to lie. I meant that we shouldn't automatically trust them.
