True, but why be upset at Windows at all? Because they wish someone else would repair their mistakes? Not a 100% whitewash, I see no one claimed so either, however, still throwing rocks at a competitor for their mistakes.
Modern Europe is what would happen if the US embraced socialism. Thank god the Democrats are so disorganized now.
At least they aren't legalizing torture and embracing "PATRIOT-ism", then trying to cover their asses and continuing their fearmongering behind some harshly controlled media network...
The article is horrible biased towards the tinfoil hatters -- we have no problems here criticizing the government actions, or even persons in specific in the government. Hate speech is of course an unfortunate law to some citizens, but personally I see that as largely a law against trolls, as what's ruled out is basically saying "all jews should be killed". I haven't heard of anyone in my own country that has had trouble with this law.
Where the part about "or you assume hate speech to be the criticism of government actions and policy" comes from, I have no idea. Heck, even our national government funded TV channel do this quite heavily today.
Being healthy with a good stamina means you'll usually be less tired and have an easier time to concentrate on things, and your mind simply works quicker if it has a better oxygen supply. People with poor stamina often feel tired at work, even if it's not a physically demanding work, like if they had slept too little. This can in large come from one's physique, and I personally felt a dramatic difference once I just switched from car to bike to work (I actually live a perfect distance from work so in my case it was a working solution to integrate exercise with work and make it regular; what's also very important in exercise).
Any admin that have such a non-existant sense of security that he/she don't bother setting any admin password, regardless if the setup routine force the admin to do it or not at some point, has pretty much doomed the overall security of that system anyway. An admin that need to be nannied through every aspect of setting up a server, including such basic things as controlling the passwords are OK, shouldn't really touch a live server somehow related to network connectivity.
If the OpenVPN drivers aren't signed, they may not install whatsoever on Windows Vista 64-bit. Vista 64 will simply not accept unsigned kernel-mode drivers at all anymore. I believe XP did, just after having displayed a dialog box with a lot of bolded text in it. I'm not sure what will happen as for Vista 32-bit.
The information here also tell that drivers that load at boot time must contain a digital signature (I'm talking regardless of 32/64-bit platform now). There's also other cases where a signature is required, and in all these cases it has to be from an authority "Windows trusts" (read: Microsoft).
While this "combats open source", it's really just the certification authority where "money = trustworthiness" stupidity applied all over. They made VeriSign et al. grow big, and now Microsoft will try to grow big(ger) using the same idea. Microsoft will defend themselves with that they can't let just about any authority without insight in how Windows works and lacking Microsoft's guidance to sign because then they could sign code that did harm to Windows. I guess both are kind of right.
OK, in "modern english" from my amateur interpretation of the article (feel free to correct me)

Will be interesting to see how it unfolds... If I understand things right, TUCOWS has not responded.
Since they've done this before, and now done it again, I assume they'll keep doing it until discovered with it in the act. In which case they'll call it a temporary glitch or something. They're skilled in this work internationally too, and are building quite a reputation with all this.
The only extinction I really expect to see is that of the reputations of "scientists" who harp on CO2 emissions when CO2 is a very small part of the overall picture; Methane has a far greater effect, as do many other things.
Right now yes, but what's being discussed is the CO2 levels at these extinctions and how we may get there one day, along with giving an estimate. The article is not about "oh wow, we're going to die from CO2 level tomorrow" like you seem to imply. If we're going to start seeing more serious effects from this in the next century, it only makes sense to start adapting now while it would be far easier than by then. We're already complaining it's too hard, after all, so imagine where we'll be in the coming few decades.
Everyone should know it was an angry gazebo on a grassy knoll that killed JFK.

I first thought it was something related to the Book of Mozilla. Shows how interested I am in those stories. :-p
Let me get this straight. You're drinking scotch at work?
Thank you. It's good to hear at least someone is thinking of the environment here.
Yes, the owner is supposed to contact the billing department so I have no idea what the deal is!
:o
Probably some cover up conspiracy where they only tell us the Slashdot vultures exceeded his allocated bandwidth.

Can a word be immoral?
Yes, depending on who you ask, words can be immoral, but I don't think a domain registry should act on it.
I'm geeky and off-beat and hate the word that originally seem to have come from 14 year olds playing Counterstrike far too much.

Yeah, get a new job when there exist tons of free (even as in freedom) virtual desktops for Windows...
Sounds a little drastic, don't you think?
How many web users use Debian? Surely about, if not less than, a percent?
Interesting incident... :-o
They had to send 1 million tons of contaminated soil to the US too as the bombs had busted open.
I can personally only think of "Get these motherfucking snails off this motherfucking ground!"
Seriously, when the companies make people think like that, aren't they doing something wrong?

If you want an ISO, they provide these too but unfortunately not for everyone, but to members of some of their partner programs.
Are you saying a bug can't be a feature?!
Jeez, critics these days!

Insightful? Some mod *both* missed the joke and thought they might have done that (no: they only judged from online games).
