In other news the term Jumbo Shrimp has been lumped in with all other shrimp types, though this is obviously inaccurate and is only used for terminology's sake...obvious because how could something that's Jumbo be a Shrimp as well? Of course, it is a widely used term, but it's certainly not really appropriate.
This is similar to the situation with the number 0, which is concidered a number, which is again obviously inaccurate as all other numbers are _something_ where 0 is _nothing_. I'm not disputing that 0 is a widely used term but that it's not really appropriate to be calling it a number.
Um, yeah...but that was then and this is now. Being canadian myself, the idea of a rematch is just a little bit disconcerting...
Of course, if we were to pile up mounds of prime BC gold all along the border we might stand a chance when the troops arrive, but I'm pretty sure that's our only hope;)
I've deffinately noticed HUGE issues with DVD's. I rent probably 3 new DVD's a week on average, and without fail, one a week won't play in either of my players (Component and PC). Brand new discs, very often the very first use of the disc no less.
I've also noticed that looking at the edges of the disc, that they are way less than perfect. Usually the layers don't line up very well, there's usually a very obvious seam, sometimes even with adhesive squeezed out the edge. I'm thinking super cheap-assed production.
I haven't noticed similar problems with CD's, although I've almost entirely stopped purchasing them because they're almost all NOT cd's anymore.
Um, no, not all of them. But most of them are real photos.
50 years ago they didn't even have photos of the earth from space of any sort...so the original must have been pretty much entirely a fictional work of art, where as this one, for the most part, uses real images.
You've obviously never been through caffeine withdrawal - personal experience shows that it is WAY worse than nicotine withdrawal. (Massive headaches for days on end for starters)
That's all fine and dandy for those whom have a constantly shifting moral stance, or none at all...however some people, like the submitter of the story, would probably prefer to stick to their morals and avoid being a hypocrit.
You would have been if you had actually wanted to be...Sorry, but it's all to apparent that you have approached these movies from an entirely critical point of view, and then complain that it didn't meet your expectations.
Hint: Movies are ALWAYS better when you leave ALL expectations behind.
You're right, I wasn't really arguing that point. I was arguing the validity of passing on an opportunity for a child to learn something of tremendous value.
Nothing wrong with consoles, but as a substitute for learning about actions/consequences, in my opinion this is a tragic lost opportunity.
Arbitrary ages of 18 ought to be replaced by "whatever age someone is able to figure out how to rebuild a computer" IMHO. Yes, there are some people who ought never to be exposed to some stuff no matter how old they are... The age of understanding concepts should be the threshhold for driving, voting, consuming harmful addictive substances, etc. rather than some X years.
I know that you're excited that the last installment of LOTR is finally out, but that's just not funny if only because it's so far off topic it's bordering on ludicrous.
Pretty much exactly what I wanted to say. I in no way got the impression that the submitter of the question tries to use his machine as a substitute for parenting. Or is it now bad to ever let children play games, even for a second?
I got the impression that for once a parent was trying to do the right thing in regards to their computer and their children.
Microsoft? Dozens, maybe as many as fifty huge platforms produced, promoted, sold, and then abandoned in the last ten years. Visual Basic. C++. Office. ASP. COM..NET. SQLServer. Access... ad nauseam. And every single version of every platform incompatible with the last.
This is pure and simple FUD. Not ONE of these technologies listed is obsolete or not used any more.
Bash MS all you want, when you can back it up. When you bash MS and don't back it up, it kinda null and voids all of your other arguments.
I'm pretty sure the emperor's new groove is loosely based on the old kids story the emperor's new clothes.
;)
However, it seems to me that it is _very_ loosely based there

Ah, so it was your idea, where should I send your cheque?

Say what?
And where did they get the images to do this 50 years ago?
One answer is called rich text.
And I tried to minimize the effects of heroin withdrawal how?
And I'm supposed to be proud of you or something?
Yeah, you win.
You've obviously never been through caffeine withdrawal - personal experience shows that it is WAY worse than nicotine withdrawal. (Massive headaches for days on end for starters)
Yeah, that's what we need, anonymous cowards moderating our own inbox ;)
As this is the level of justice that almost entirely bought and sold this is not surprising at all.
Can't beat em, then join em right?
That's all fine and dandy for those whom have a constantly shifting moral stance, or none at all...however some people, like the submitter of the story, would probably prefer to stick to their morals and avoid being a hypocrit.
Or get him sued into oblivion...
Wow, I'll give you cudos for posting that on your account rather than anonymously.
If you had, it'd be insta-troll!
Now, I most certainly do NOT agree in any way shape or form!
Best answer this topic will get I'm sure! ;)
I'd mod you up if I could
Then don't try.
Obviously you didn't.

1000+ pages in to kill a mockingbird?
Must have been reading the _really_ big font version then ehh?
You're right, I wasn't really arguing that point.

No kids ehh?
It's all too obvious really.
Here, I'll spell it out for you:
He was giving his children an opportunity to learn the relationship between their actions and subsequent consequences, on their own.
Again, the key word here is: LEARN
Pretty much exactly what I wanted to say.
I in no way got the impression that the submitter of the question tries to use his machine as a substitute for parenting. Or is it now bad to ever let children play games, even for a second?

Mozilla would be the main one in recent time.
