As Ben Stein documented extensively in Expelled, the important thing is that this claim enhances the ability of researchers to find new frontiers of grants and funding and that Charles Darwin comes out looking like the smartest, handsomest guy they can put in front of young peoples' eyes.

  2. I got the impression he thinks the president reports to the Justice Branch.

And the Justice Branch should be able to install whoever it wants into the White House.

Soon we can be like Venezuela and make the voters into a useful formality.

  3. This is like the Valerie Plame wild goose chase of the Bush 43 administration.

The only charges -obstruction of justice- had nothing to do with any prior crime being committed.

In otherwords, if there had not been any allegations no crimes would have even happened.

A spectacular waste of tax payer dollars amounting to little more than a way for the democrats to make themselves look less bad without actually contributing anything.

If democrats and progressives have more to offer than juvenile recess taunts it doesn't make a practical difference because they carry out their agenda as if that's all they had going for them.

    Your response reinforces this perception.

  8. If Tim Cook understands all this why didn't he run for president?

And if he did, why didn't anyone vote for him?

I'm not sure why Tim Cook thinks he should lecture the guy the electorate picked.

  9. Ha ... well, I think what you're saying here is that scientists would be interested in this and they could probably milk some steep grant money out of it.

But on your death bed are you going to look back and say, "Ah ! I know whether exoplanets have trash in their underwater trenches! It was all worth it!"

If not, then ... well, there's a good chance objectivity is categorically devoid of meaning. And even if it wasn't (which is incoherent), I don't think this discovery would make a life changing difference for me. I'd move along.
