The point of a 5 paragraph essay is to learn how to do an intro, have at least 3 supporting ideas, then an outro. In my experience, that format was only used for kids. By the time we were teenagers, that format was long gone.
Think of the 5 paragraph essay as a kata in karate. You have to do very specific moves to demonstrate your mastery. However, they would never ever expect that kata to be used in a real world scenario.

The country that invented Jim Crow is suddenly some beacon of freedom? The country that used nuclear weapons against POC is suddenly the good guys? The country that invaded Iraq and used its NSA to spy on its own citizens is now going to lecture others on moral behavior? What, exactly baffles you about the situation? None of this is new.
So... those particular "POCs" were aligned with the Axis Powers i.e. the Nazis, ya know? So that's one bad part of your argument.
Second of all, why would you say POC? I'm pretty sure the Japanese at the time would only view things as watashitachi versus gaijin. Trying to look at it through the lens of white skin vs any other color makes no sense, especially to the Empire of Japan's citizens.
At all levels below university Instead of asking how we can offload companies training expenses on the school system, they should be wondering how to educate. The basics of reading, writing, mathematics, basic science/chemistry, and history is timeless. If you get those down while encouraging group and independent learning, you've done your job as an educator.

I opened up their image in Gimp to adjust the levels to really make the defect pop out. The whole right side of the image is uneven in luminosity. I have a couple thoughts:
My first guess is that there's a thermal issue around there that's ever so slightly warping the screen there.
I also wouldn't expect LCDs of that size that are constantly being pushed, and subject to other stresses, to last for a long time. I also wouldn't put it past Apple to skimp on the thickness of the glass to prevent the warping in their never-ending quest to go slimmer.
This is doing research on things any of them should have known from college late night study sessions. Next are they going to study if tying your shoes helps with running?

We already have enough trouble staffing 911 centers in different parts of the country. Now he wants to make that strain twice as bad, when the existing services aren't so bad now.
Years ago, I had a suicidal friend call me at zero dark thirty. After talking to her for a bit, I told her I was going to call 911 for her, then call her right back. After giving 911 her address/contact information and my contact information, I called her back. Within I want to say 8 minutes, there was someone at her door to make sure she was safe. All people acted professionally, and she got urgent mental health care. How exactly can improve this scenario?
Put another way, I think the senator has absolutely no idea how to handle the suicide rates. If he had spent any time on the ground talking with people, a story like mine should not be uncommon. I'm sure there's parts of the country where my story is rare or non-existent, however, I view that as a job for local governments. Reducing suicide is about solving personal issues that primarily manifest at the local community level. Trying to do anything from the federal level seems foolish and reckless.
It's a class marker. People do it to distinguish themselves from the flyover morons. Drinking tapwater marks you as deplorable. You really make so little you can't afford Evian? Bet you drive a pickup truck, too.

I don't trust anyone from a country where there's more hockey sticks than people. It's probably a nightmare of flying pucks through the air hitting innocent pedestrians daily. I would propose legislation if I lived there.
If I wrote something like that, I would not attach my name to it. He's basically asking to be fired from his job. Hard drive failures are something everyone has dealt with for decades. What if a bus driver said that he/she had a hard time navigating in traffic, but other than that, they were great?
After looking into his homepage and blog, I can't help but get the impression this guy slacks off a lot, while thinking a lot of himself. The following parts struck me as interesting:

I take that to mean he loves to pontificate, but doesn't want to hear anyone else.
His current amusement is to have as many home pages around the University of Toronto as possible; he will let finding them be your amusement.
If I told any employer my favorite pastime was to waste their time (and thus money), I could not imagine having a job much longer.
Then again, that home page was written 22 years ago. Maybe he's matured in the mean time, but I doubt it. Someone at the same job for 2 decades, who still doesn't understand basic stuff like hard drives, probably hasn't improved much. Those sort of people tend to do the absolute minimum possible, at all times.
Or what about having daycare be provided by the friendly guy with windowless white van and rust spots? I hear he serves free candy and really, really likes kids.
Hopefully this will start a new space race, and focus the US on kicking ass in space. We're the only ones to successfully land on Mars, but we shouldn't get lazy and stop boldly going where... Dammit. ST:TNG marathon is what I'll be doing now.

I briefly dated a girl who apparently had a kid, and never told the biological father. Her excuse was he already has enough kids. For ultimate irony, her mother berated my morals because I am an atheist. The next day, I found out the girl cheated on me a week ago. Obviously, I ran from that train wreck quickly. What a shitty weekend.
Editor's note: I'm adopted. I was fortunate enough to have biologicals who were momentarily smart enough to find me real parents. The parents I ended with were a blessing I'll never be able to repay. I was a bit pissy when I was writing the above because it bothers me how people have trivialized sex since the pill was introduced. The pill, like Facebook, could've been used for good. I don't like how things have turned out. I'm not saying that I have all the solutions. My argument is that the tables are unbalanced.
I'm open to ideas as mine are often half baked.
$120 is a pretty good deal for a semester in the school of hard knocks. Compare it a DUI that costs of $9000 (you're already thinking of DBZ, cuz you lost the game), and it's obvious this a better ROI with less risk to others.
