    all you need is a handy folder with GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} as the name and you will get most of the control panel functions in a nice scrolling list.

    Note you may want to have this folder on a flashkey in a folder for the times you are running Win7 64bit (there may be issues)

    lemme correct things before my semi conductor teacher whacks me upside the head

    you would actually make a nonconductive dough and then mix in gallium or antimony depending on which type you need (i think those are the least toxic of the possible options) so a "proper" diode would have gallium on one end and antimony on the other end

    you could maybe get a sort of bipolar junction transistor by making a blob with Npn sections but this would just about be stone knifes and bearskins level of operation.

    even not counting "special" weapons i think we have the assets to LEVEL a good sized city in about 3 days (and if we wanted to be nasty we could make it uninhabitable for months even quicker)

    get a number of companies to go into afganistan and start mining the huge deposits of minerals that have been found. Even if we work with the locals (and only get say 40% of the value) we could pay for both the afgan and iraq war in a few months time (heck get some of the Corps of Engineers working on getting the mining rolling (with of course the roads needed to get the minerals out)).

    heck some folk say that there is a trillion dollars worth of minerals (not counting indirect worth of course) waiting to be grabbed.

    the trick is yes they can fire you for any reason but they are still on the hook for your unemployment benefits unless they can prove you were fired FOR CAUSE.

    somebody didn't plan ahead to allow for this and maybe that why it took them a bit to fix things??

    maybe the GAdmin was at the pub having a drink and took enough time to get in that things got wedged??

    Plus if a DB was involved you can't just add new storage and go without stopping the db server and doing a restart.

    (and i would dispute the "mission critical" label for a notification server (short of a nuke plant monitor))

    the problem is the "runaway" effect

    i would assume that somehow they kind of goofed on the disk space thing and the monitor got jammed because they had more or less

    60 to 70% : 8 hours
    71 to 80% : 4 hours
    81 to 90% : 90 minutes
    91 to !!! : 15 minutes

    and of course its not like they can just plug a new drive in the server and flip the spill over over in a few minutes
    (note this is why you set the alarm threshold low and or install new storage ahead of the need)

    the problem is most envelopes can be steamed open you would need to somehow prove that the envelope has not been tampered with.

    I would suggest you use something like http://www.uline.com/BL_1552/Self-Seal-Flat-Tyvek-Envelopes (nearly impossible to open without destroying the seal) and sign the seal a couple times.

    here is the difference

    The Company purchased Internet access (and a fixed block of ip addresses)
    The edit was done from an ip address in said FIXED BLOCK of addresses
    Therefore the COMPANY was held liable

    Its the difference in the real world of a business getting held responsible for a letterbomb sent by courier from a street address
    and
    a person being held responsible for a letterbomb sent from a motel room (just because they happen to have been registered at that room)

    so you draw lots or something and have at least one developer ON STANDBY during the holiday.

    Of course the complete MAROON that pushed this update over the 4th of july weekend should be either demoted to a safer job or promoted outside the day to day workflow.

    Managers should know that people do have these portable computer things and they do operate outside and everything.

    would it be possible to carry some sort of magnet device to trip the sensor?? (i don't know how those things work due to not having a car) I also think that it should be LAW that the intersection should have a minimum length green every 3 or 4 cycles to allow for bikes and pedestrians to cross.

    or to rephrase things a bit its like in a game where you roll 5d20 (rolling for 60) to cause an event if you get a bonus of 2 points for every plane in the cloud its going to take a lot if your actual roll is 20 (and its worse if you have say a penalty of 12 to fight)

    so if you have an area where there are mostly clouds with a minimum of water (barely enough to be called a cloud at all) then yes it is possible that Cali could have a bunch of flights and still have a drought (plus Cali has a whole lot of hexes on its map).

    don't forget that there are instances where even the worst of enemies can fight together when a greater threat comes to light.

    besides i would bet that both Visa and MasterCard have a very good understanding of "Family Values" (heck i would bet they have Family members on staff).

    1 was not implying that a "geek" could not actually succeed in his attack and was not actually stating that said geek did not have some sort of weapon. (in your case we would have an terrorist flavored pretzel in short order)

    2 not addressing this option in your response unless you consider the passengers as components of some sort of "device"

    3 did not come close to addressing this option which i would call the Patrick Jane option

    but you do prove my point THE PLANE OR THE TERRORISTS WILL NOT SURVIVE THE ATTEMPT.

    Raise your hand if you are perfectly willing to:

    1 "bare handed" attack a hijacker on your flight

    2 enable some sort of device that would crash the plane AT THAT MOMENT (all the way from hacking the planes computers to blowing a wing off the plane)

    3 Social engineer the hijackers into surrendering

    This is why the TSA is a farce that needs to be completely rebuilt from zero (and the policy makers transferred to GitMo)
